Theres no such thing as a generalised 'Scottish' accent. Nearly every town/city has a distinguishable difference to their accent be it Glasgow, Aberdeen, Edinburgh etc....

@Oriandu My Dad, who has lived abroad for years, sounds nothing like that. It's the words Donnelly uses too, they're what Americans probably think we say (daddy bags? Seriously? Ah'm gonnae chib ye would be better!). Being a Scot, I know we've got hundreds of different accents, but if they want a Scots accent that's easy to understand, they should pick someone from Inverness. Getting a Canadian to do a Scots accent wasn't a good idea.

They've been getting Canadians to do Scots accents for decades. Very, very rarely have I ever seen a hollywood film or blockbuster-"anything" use a Scottish actor or voice actor for a Scottish character. They used an Englishman for the latest Star Trek movie, they used an American in braveheart, they used a Frenchman in Highlander and they used a Canadian in the original Star Trek. It's atrocious because there's actually quite a lot of Scots actors looking for work.
