Kudos should be gone to Kamal Haasan the genius who penned the story. On that year he got the FilmFare Award for best screen play for Virasat.

Virasat is the inch by inch remake of Kamal's ThevarMagan.

Anil is no match to how Kamal performed in the end. Character is based off overseas english, here Anil speaks in mumbaikar English. Kamal's version was much better.

He should have become free because he killed Balli under self defense..

I think that falls under manslaughter.

It's a good ending because it shows some kind of denouement to the constant violence in the Thakur community.

The overall fight was better in Tamil (longer/more tense) but the sequence where they fight with the ornamental weapons is realy well shot!

i've watched this film so many times. at first i had it taped from a broadcast on channel 4. i now have the dvd. it's still one of the saddest films i've ever seen.

awsome performance by all the Actors and offcourse Tabbo and Anil Kapoor stand tall amongst all but still each and every actor did his part amazingly stunning and outstanding.

some people said that Pooja Batara dint do well but in my opinion it was well suited cuz she was depicted as being from a different culture and class.
