  • Sometimes a dumb commercial can get in the way of a video you're trying to watch. Sometimes a video you're trying to watch can get in the way of a dumb commercial. When you have to choose; you can really get pissed. >:(

  • What gives? Not much discussion on the new book "You Have A College Degree, Now What?" Not sure why though.

  • If I still want to walk around with a desk attached to my butt, can I still attend WGU? Can my kid take the final exams for me?--Afterall, they're sitting right there with me not being a distraction or anything...

  • i have an associates in nursing and my RN, i am thinking of getting my BSN. This school sounds too good. I wanted to know if you guys know if this is a legit BSN, if its recognized in california and if the BSN received here is good enough to be accepted to a graduate program? Just looking for online schools but not sure which one to choose.

  • @littletigger17 This is an awesome school. It's nationally and regionally accredited!

  • Their online support is outstanding which is must in online education.Best university to pursue online course.

  • GO FOR IT!

  • I have an IT program question. My burning question is, I keep hearing that this is great for someone who already has experience in the field but needs the degree, what if I have NO experience in the field but feel that I could learn better this way? I am 24 with some GE done and work 40 hrs/week. I am a good self teacher, but have taken only one Infosystems class. I am pretty computer savvy but have no formal IT experience. Would WGU work for me?

  • Dont be discouraged! The best bet is to speak with an enrollment counselor. Enrollment counselors at WGU are very knowledgeable about the degree programs and what it takes to succeed in them.

  • I returned to college after dropping out 25 years after the fact. I earned my BA in Math Education in one year and continued toward my MA which I finished last May. I now have completed 75% of the requirements toward my MS in Ed Leadership and will finish in June after one year in the program. Wgu gave me the tool to "get 'er done" at a cost well below what it would at a conventional school. The quality of the program is top rate and I highly recommend it.

  • I am close to finishing my first year with WGU and I am not looking to transfer to another school. I am very pleased that when I researched colleges WGU told me everything and more that is in this commercial -- it has all been the truth. The mentoring system is one of their strongest assets! Most online colleges leave you to fend for yourself and when frustration looms, at WGU there are plenty of contact options plus your academic mentor keeps in contact with you on a regular basis :).

  • Great commercial! An awesome way to market the University! This is the best online school! :)

  • I am in my first month at WGU going for my M.A. in Mathematics Education. I love that it is affordable, and that you can work as fast as you want. What's amazing is that you can take the assessments from home via webcam. In the end, you get a high quality education and thus save a lot of money in the long run. :)

  • does anyone here have attended the Pre Licensure BSN of WGU? If ever I finished it here in California and got my RN License can I bring that license in Nevada without any questions? Because I heard that the Nevada Board of Nursing does not recognize this online BSN Program from WGU? Please reply guys I need to know. thank you.

  • Hi and thanks for your question. This is a new program and we are working state-by-state to obtain state board approval for the prelicensure program. Once you have completed an approved program in CA and take your NCLEX exam, there should be no problem with having that license accepted in NV.

  • WGU is a terrific university for working adults. I am able to work around my schedule and after a 15 year absence from college will finally be getting my degree in July. The education is outstanding and the support from the school is even better. I recommend WGU to everybody I meet.

  • I am a student at WGU going for my bachelor of arts in special education. I am so happy that this program is an actual challenge. I have many friends who go to University of Pheonix, fly through the program and at the end know nothing. I personally would not feel comfortable doing my job later on down the road if I didnt have all the knowledge and skills to do so, WGU offers that. It is also affordale, and they are there to guide you through your program from step 1 until you are done.

  • Do the students at WGU's teachers college find it easy or hard to obtain a teaching position after they have graduated WGU online? Does it matter to the employers that the applicant has obtained their degree online?

  • 19-21 seconds..the guy closest to the camera..is that a frog on his head?????

  • lol it really does look like a frog on his head!

  • I love WGU. It is challenging, well paced, and they provide a lot of support. It is not a diploma mill, it is competency based so you have to prove you know the information. If you took shortcuts in other programs - you'll find out pretty quickly. If you think you are all that because you have x number of hours and think you know it all already, you'll get to prove it pretty quickly.

Worth the money, worth the effort . . .quality school, quality folks.

  • I really like WGU, I like the accountability and I enjoy talking with my Mentor. I have gone to Baker Online and a local college online, and nothing compares to the education I am receiving at WGU.

  • I am a student at WGU and I got credit for many of the units I had accumulated from other colleges. I also have taken as many as 21 units in one semester because WGU let me progress through my program as quickly as I wanted. I also saved a lot of money this way because I pay by the semester, not by the unit. It is also a non-profit university so it is very affordable. I am just about finished and my 2 years of courses has cost me less than $12,000.

  • I also am a student at WGU. 10 months in, I am close to hald way through my bachelor in IT degree. The more time you put into your studies, the faster you will graduate. They send you places to take your tests, so cheating really isnt an option. From my expereience, it is a better school than what I have heard of other online colleges. You and your mentor can pick when you want to take specific courses. Take your laptop on vacation with you and you can spend down time on studies. Go WGU.

  • This is not a diploma mill. I have attended online classes at University of Phoenix, Kaplan, and now WGU. WGU makes me work for knowledge. They do not give you uber simple assignments like Kaplan and Phenix. This is university level work all the way. I recommend WGU if you value your education. If you just want to buy it, go elsewhere.

  • I have never attended a diploma mill, so I cannot reply to that idea.I know I said this before, but, I have had to transfer because of the Air Force, and I have over 200 credits.Nothing that was required of me in WGU's tasks was new, unique, or helpful. There are schools that offer assessments that require a foundation of knowledge. These efficiently evaluate one's knowledge. So, the idea that WGU HAS to do them this way to be sure people know what they are doing is just crap!

  • "University level work" sounds as though you are implying that I am unaware of what real college level work is. That is really funny as I probably have more credits (and the knowledge to go with it) than the administrators, teachers, and mentors at WGU. If it weren't for transfer issues, I'd have my doctorate! It sounded as if you were speaking down to me, but perhaps not.

  • If you were really aware of what college level work was and claim to be as smart as you are, you wouldn't have all those credits without a PhD degree to show for it u dumbass.

  • The only thing that could be considered different is the fact that, if I know the material, I don't have to read the resources. All the work is the same. I know a little bit about assessments as I was in the Air Force and was transferred from base to base and with every new base, came a new school.

  • Also, I was told (and, I believe, purposely mislead) that there were assessments for classes. Wrong! The assessments mean that I do all the homework, all the pretests, and take the regular test. At any other university, that would NOT be considered an assessment.

  • The vocabulary for WGU is unique, but you DO NOT need to do all the homework if you know it. You do the tasks to prove you know it, then you take the test. You were not mislead. Many people can take a test and pass but still not be proficient in what they are taking. The tasks make you prove it. If you cannot pass the tasks, you need to do the homework. Its that simple.

  • What do you think the tasks are, if not "all the homework"? As I already stated, you may not have to read the resources, but all the HOMEWORK is still there (you can call it tasks if you want, but it doesn't change it's nature). The statement "If you cannot pass the tasks, you need to do the homework" is silly.I could, and did,do the tasks w/o any reading (homework) but the tasks themselves would be considered homework anywhere else.

  • By all the homework, I was referring to the COURSE OF STUDY work that you would not have to take if you actually knew it. If all you want is a diploma without actually proving you can do anything, I am sure there are other colleges that will gladly run you through assignments, and tasks, and papers, then 3-4 tests plus a final and not be concerned if you actually retain anything or learn anything beyond the test.

  • I attended this school for a year. It appears as though I must disagree with the posts that applaud this establishment. The statement "You don't have to take classes you don't need" is entirely false. I took NUMEROUS courses I had taken at previous universities, and they wouldn't transfer in (note: these are courses that a "normal" school would take in a heartbeat!). This would constitute "a class (I didn't) need".

  • At WGU, you need to prove competency. Since your classes didn't transfer in, it was because they were not competency based. If you didn't have to prove in any way, other than a test, then you have proven nothing.

  • The statement "the vocabulary for WGU is unique" should be a clue to those reading these posts that there is a problem. The vocabulary is not the norm ,therefore, misleading.

  • They spelled out everything for me. Sorry your experience was so terrible. I am sure there is a college near you.

  • Great commercial! Nice blend of humor and important information. I've been attending for just over one year and couldn't be happier!

  • I am currently doing my student teaching at a middle school in North Carolina. Lord willing, I will graduate in December.

I like the fact that a student can accelerate the pace of study. I have moved through my coursework quicker than my plan.

  • I have been going to WGU for almost a year now, and have had nothing but good experiences with them Very efficient and wonderful school. I especially like ThinkWell learning resources.

  • Great commerical ! I still haven't caught it on T.V I guess i'm too busy studying !!!

  • I have been attending WGU for two years. I am currently doing my student teaching at my local elementary school. WGU has made my dreams come true by allowing me to work and finish my degree without having to drive 60 miles to a university. The cost is very inexpensive, and their mentor systems gives the school a personal touch. I can not say anything but good things about my experience!

  • I've really enjoyed my experience with WGU so far. I love how I can schedule my own time to do "school work". I do have two complaints however; hardly ANY of my previous course work transferred, so I had to do additional work, and I do not get a certificate showing I've completed my bachelors so I can atleast "Sub" while I'm getting my credentials. I'd love for the school to work something out for the second issue. It would be nice!

  • Straight to the point, no frills commercial. I love it . Way to go WGU

  • I've been attending WGU for a year! I LOVE IT!!!!

  • The commercial is great. I have been attending WGU for 2 weeks now and have already finished 2 assessments. I am planning on finishing my B.A. within a year using my past experience. I do love how you can learn at your own pace and do not have to give up your first-born to afford tuition. Great job WGU!

  • This commercial is great! I can't go to classes, work, take care of kids (single parent) do homework, exercise, etc. Something has to give. It's about time they let people do for a bachelor's what they've let graduate students do for years. Way to go WGU!

  • This is a great ad for the school. I've been a student since 2006 and really feel the education I'm getting is awesome!

    Keep up the great work!

  • Great job WGU. I agree with some of the other posts, u need to highlight the inexpense of this school and the accreditation. These both are what sold me on WGU. I am now in my last year and I cant believe that I actually am going to graduate college It's a dream come true!!!

  • This is a GREAT university. I go and love it. Although I have to agreewith irclower, the whole field of flowers thing WAS a bit much. Usually I have my girls yanking on my pant legs, instead of basking in a field of tulips.

  • The commercial makes a good point. It seems as if WGU is going to be a good fit for me. However, the woman sitting in the field of flowers with her laptop was a bit over the top.

  • I take my computer to the park. I don't always get a wireless signal though! Lol.

  • Good Commercial. True to form concerning being stuck to your desk!

  • Well, I'm not so sure about the "only the classes you need part", but overall, good commercial.

  • Great spot! That's high praise from a WGU Marketing Management grad and marketing exec... However, they need to play up the nonprofit status, regional accreditation and overall price difference to other online schools. I am available for a consultation! First one free. ;-)

  • Super job with the commercial. It really is true WGU fits your life and all its ups and downs along the way.I am a proud WGU Student since 2006

  • awesome, I have been student for about 7 months now and it is awesome. Thanks WGU

  • I am a busy mom of three boys and work 50-60 hours a week. WGU has given me the opportunity to better myself and I can't say enough about this university! The menotorship is great as well! Thanks Rob! I am currently in my fifth term in BSIT network admin and have 4 certifications so far! I have done so much I never thought I could do. WGU has given me the opportunity and courage to persue my dreams!

  • My husband and I have been students at WGU for a year now - Its been a godsend - without WGU we probably would not have pursued a degree at all. We love WGU and have so much school spirit.

  • Great Commercial for a Great University. Spread the word.

  • Perfect.... very well done. WGU has been perfect for me so far and I'll be able to finish my degree in only 18 months because of the ability to apply what I already know without a huge amount of wasted time doing meaningless assignments that dont' teach me anything I don't already know; that just take up a lot of time!

  • I am very proud student at WGU and so excited to see this commercial. I think it turned out just great. It feel it captures perfectly the dilemma many students run into trying to fit life around school. I definitely saw myself in several of the vignettes in the commercial. Super job WGU!

  • I have focused on my Masters program like a full time job this year. I will be completing my degree next month, only one year after starting. WGU has been invaluable in helping my dream of an advanced degree come true!

  • I love this university.

I wear my hoodie with pride...

  • I'm a new WGU Student and I think it's great. It took me a while to get used to navigting. But I am learning a lot! The mentors are incredible. Thanks Dawn.

  • I love WGU and wouldn't be on the road to a teaching certification as a mom to two little girls without them! Can't wait to graduate in December with a dual BA in SpEd/ElemEd and start the M.Ed in January! I just can't get enough of WGU!

  • How are you getting a dual BA? I have bounced the Sped degree back and forth for over a year now.

  • That would be my only complaint is that they will not let you dual major for some reason. I hope that changes soon as I wish to also get a Science degree.

  • Thats because of how inexpensive it is. They couldn't afford to give away 2 degrees for the price of one. LOL.

  • Great commercial! Great school! I went back to school to become a special education teacher, and I'm coming to the end of my first year. I have loved it so far. I am so proud to be a student at WGU!

  • I loved being a WGU student and now love being a mentor helping WGU students reach their life-goals of becoming special ed teachers!

  • I am a WGU grad and I am SO proud to be part of such a wonderful school. I went back to school to become a teacher and it worked perfectly for my schedule and pocketbook. Thank you for giving me a second chance at a career I love.

  • Im still in my first year and am liking the school even though it's hard (and it should be) the mentors are great and it is very schedule friendly. This commercial is way better than some others I've seen Thumbs up.

  • I am going to WGU and proud of it!! Fabulous commercial!! Worked in marketing b4 kids... now going to WGU to be a teacher. Whoever created commercial 2 thumbs up!!

  • Love it...Love it...Love IT!!!!!! I am a proud WGU student graduating in a year and think this is a great way to spread the word about WGU!

  • I love that guy trying to mow the grass with that desk! Good job marketing team!

  • More, please!? Great commercial, WGU. I know many of the cable channels will be airing this. Hope it goes to the networks soon! WGU is a unique University for unique people who want to pursue a degree and not have to give up their work and family time to do it. Keep up the great work.

  • I have attended WGU for several years now. The courses offered are great, other college credits transfer easily, support is good, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My mentor, Denise, is the best! I love WGU.

  • Well it's about time! I love WGU!

  • I too am a proud WGU student closing in on my degree! Keep spreading the word!

  • What a great commercial! I attended WGU and received a B.S. Business-IT Management. It was a great experience! If you are considering going back to school to get your first/your next degree, please take a serious look at WGU.

  • I am going into my third year at WGU and I'm very proud of this commercial. It is a wonderful representation of the university!

  • I like it; well done.

  • Great work!!! GO WGU!!!
