Johann Sebastian Bach, Suite BWV 997, Sarabande

Compared to the Prelude/Presto, Allemande, Courante, Bourree, and Gigue, I find this movement the most challenging from 997.

The temptation is to overlook it since it is slower and easier to play in terms of notes. But to evoke and create ornamentations on the repeats can be a very rewarding experience with this piece.

Tatyana does a beautiful job with the ornamentation on the repeats and phrasing.

Well played. But why the capo on the 2nd fret? It was written in A minor.....is it simply because B minor sounds smoother?

@tonadaasbl Actually C minor is the original key from this lute suite. And I've guitarists play this in C minor with the capo on the third fret.
