how the hell can their be someone that disliked this? come on, whoever did that, you don't know what's good, Tom, Heartbreaker's, the whole group is awesome.
People dont seem to get this song..LISTEN To The Words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its old..But the stuff still happens (Scott Brown ok!) Listen to the lyrics..yea yea its a great song but hes trying to say something...LISTEN!!!
hummmm the 80's I think tom sounds a little funny but this could have been cause its at the end of the show but in the 80's he was doing cocaine but after rebels he only used pot. he still smokes pot but not as much because it has become stronger since the 70s.............
anyway tom petty and the heartbreakers rock!!!!!!!!! I ♥ tpath
Saw them in Dallas around this time...only Mike ripped a ROCKIN solo that seemed to go on for 10 minutes in place of the laid back jam here. They kinda had him back in the shadows though, while Petty strummed the 12 string. Anybody see this?
was he taking it from someone, i highly doubt it, mike comes accross as a chill layback guy that wouldn't care if someone had a dubbie, he would probably smoke it with the guy and then share it with benmont, stan, howie, and tom.
yeah but not usually in the middle of a song. He may well have broken a string but i think it's more likely he switched guitars due to tuning problems.
the one person who disliked this must be a refuggee

This is from a golden Hearbreakers' periode - with original drummer and bass player. Great, I love this period!

@Max2006MyDog Drummer but not bass player. Howie Epstein took over from Ron Blair who left. He returned after Howie died.

Of course...mike is the lead guitarist, petty would not be able to play such a guitar solo at the end
MS520d 2 years ago
well petty is an intermediate guitarist and has to do his parts.
MS520d 3 years ago
but mike does the real guitar playing though

He might've broke a string but sometimes they do switch guitars like that during performances.

Seems like Tom broke a string at 3:53. Thanks for posting!
