Australia is littered with war memorials dedicated to "those that have laid down" and "those who have fallen" during two world wars. Has anybody considered building a monument to the poor sods who weren't bone idle or too clumsy to keep their footing and who actually got shot?
Absolutely beautiful. Who could listen to this song, watch the pictures and not be completely moved? A wonderful tribute to the brave men and women who faught for our country. Lest we forget!. Thank you also to lillshazz, I'll be using this in my classroom.
I tell all the world, Fuck the politicians, Dont go and fight for any of them, They are all clowns, liars, impostors, And no spine, Tell em to go to hell,
@cplkickass Yes the Russians were Heroes, but that was in WWII, This Song is about the 300.000 ANZAC's that Went overseas to fight for England and France in WWI, They were all Volunteers, the Only Army to be made up of Only Volunteers. and also Australia and New Zealand had Tiny Populations in Comparison to the Other Allied countries.
It breaks my heart to listen to this song. My pop was a soldier in the Australian army and it is 2 years this month since he died. I miss him every day.
@cplkickass They were Heroes, But that was in WWII in WWI the Russian were Allies of Germany, and this song is about The 300,000 ANZAC's who were all Volunteers, The only All Volunteer Army in WWI and they went to Fight and Die on other Countries Land, fighting The Aggressor.
@cplkickass@cplkickass The Soviet Union were the true heroes of World War II? They made a pact with Hitler and then stabbed Poland in the back and annexed half their country when the Germans invaded. Then after the Fuhrer broke their alliance and launched a surprise attack they occupied all of eastern Europe and installed brutal puppet regimes. As well most Russian soldiers were drunk, thieving rapist peasant filth.
That's your definition of a hero, you stupid fucking dickhead?
Those heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives, you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. therefore rest in peace. there is no difference between the johnnies and the mehemets to us where they lie side by side in this country of ours.
you, the mothers who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears, your sons are now lying in our bosoms and are in peace. after having lost their lives on this land they become our sons as well.
ANZAC or MEHMETCIK ( GALLIPOLI ) Were are now Brother as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk the first president of Turkey said " Dont worrie your hearts the mothers of these ANZAC' s you children are lying here with ours they are our children now
God bless all those brave New Zealanders and Austrialians who have and will serve our nations. May the sacrifices of those who died in foreign fields, and those who survived, but carried with them physical and emotional scars never be forgotten. Lest We Forget.
i can remeber every single anzac day at my school they would play this song to the slide show of all the people hu have died, i used to cry.. :( love this song
Australian Military Song is very emotional and sad...make me comfortable and relieve my stress. Unlike USSR songs, which shows power, Brave and Strengh. lol every culture and nation has ways to keep majority retarded through such tactics in order to keep its population into war mongering mentality. The arabs have Jihadists and Terrorists. Australia has these Anzacs. A war monger, by any other name is still a war monger.
The ANZAC legend is used to teach sacrifice, determination and true friendship. The horrors of war and the bravery and determination of our enemy to save their homeland are a well documented part of this legend.
It isn't about glory, fool, it's about pain and sacrifice and NEVER EVER forgetting those who died for it.
My great grandfather was a litehorseman in ww1. I think we were all poms then but i think we gained an identity after we acheived things the English couldn't or were too afraid to do.........LEST WE FORGET.
I love this song, but it makes me cry. Anzac Day means so mcuih to me and as I get older I become more emotional, knowing there are so many young men who never had the chance to get older, and I'm scared of turning 40 next year....
The british meddled in almost any place in the world making sure no peace would ever endure, And used Australians and NZ landers for their shameful activities, Go to England and protest,
I suppose you'd just stand by and say "that's not nice, please stop".
End result would be a bullet to your head.
Peace has NEVER endured with humans. I'm not saying we shouldn't strive for peace, but to deny violence as a fundamental part of human nature is insane!
We need to learn how to control and channel that violent energy into works for the beterment of mankind. I don't have the answers do you?
It wasnt started by the Kaiser it was started by a serbian nationalist who assasinated the austrian-Hungarian emporers kids and his wife. Then there was war between the two countries and sserbia asked there alie russia to help and they did, so then austria-hungary asked there allie Germany to help and they did. Then russia asked france, then the only way germany could attack france was through belgium. But Britian was watchin belguim for france becuase of the war. And thats how ww1 started PZ
@angelalovemarcus I disagree. Yes Serbian nationalists plotted and eventually carried out the assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand. The response by the various governments lead me to believe that of all the countries involved, if only Germany had shown restraint, then we wouldn't have had a WW1 like we did.
@OZJD Germany had shown restraint? Actually if Russia had said to Serbia 'stuff you' It wouldn't have got any bigger. Russia would probably still had a crown monarch and we wouldn't have had WW2.
Off course Australia wouldn't have an anzac legend but I dam certain I would rather have had all those blokes that died, back home where they belong.
To angelalovemarcus and deiselgino4lyfe, the Archduke's assassination was a flash point in history. Leaders of nations had choices about going to war and they all took the "let's shoot option". I'm blaming the Kaiser and Germany for it.
Who do you guys blame? A Serbian national He really convinced all those leaders to go to war.
@OZJD the Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand and his wife were shot at point blank range in there car while on a narrow bridge by the serbian army after 13 or 14 attempts at assasinateing him... i agree go google it or i will tell you about it
I'll take this slow for you sweetie it might help you understand. I know who killed the ArchDuke and his wife. However what your clearly limited intellect fails to grasp, is that those Serbian nationals didn't declare war, they didn't have the power, ergo they didn't start WW1. It was started by the leaders who decided warfare was the correct response. I'm saying, try to follow this one, that I blame the Kaiser for the ultimate escalation into what we new as WW1.

Great song - great video. My dads father lost his four brothers at Gallipoli and Europe in the Great war and my mums father spent four years in a prison camp in Germany in WWII. All were farmers became soldiers. I know the sacrifice that these heroes made through their writings and stories.Men were men back then but the pain never ended. War haunted their everyday till the day they died. Rest in peace you Australian heroes and Lest We Forget. Condobolin NSW
