Nie wiem jak mam dziękować wszystkim tym,którzy zamieszczają te krótkie filmiki pełne najwspanialszych wykonań naszych polskich artystów,wirtuozów ,ludzi sceny!Jestem zachwyconą i wzruszoną do łez wielbicielką Ludwika Sempolińskiego!Dziękuje:)
Hello Grzegorz - "Lolo" Semplinski and "Dodek" Dymsza - were comical geniuses of Warsaw Cabarets - according to my father who loved them all. Zula Pogorzelska was a geat comical talent in her own right - in addition to her other numerous talents.
Barbara Rylska also glowed with a great beauty and singing and comical talents. Thanks for this charming upload! Semplinski used to mimick Russian accent in his "Tomasz ah Tomasz" rendition - he was a truly fabulous performer!
FAB UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU LOUS! Grzegorz Moj Przystojny Przyjaciel, Pan nie umnie.....a to wstyd!!!! :-)) I LOVE IT! I love your video....It is GREAT! Grzegorz... Did they ever do a Polish Production in Warsaw of Me and MY Gal? I read that they did Amadeus with Roman Polanski playing Mozart. Just wondering. I would love to see Me and My Gal in Polish. A gazillion Gwiazdi for YOU...YOU are the BEST! Dziekuje....
@genia106 I just wrote to Damian, how much I like the Polish text of this song. It is charming, full of humour and so well depicts the careless atmosphere of prewar Warsaw. And Sempoliński's "grinning" voice makes an excellent comment to it!
This is the snazziest version of the Lambeth Walk I've ever heard. Phonograph (or is it a gramophone?) @ 1:24 reminds me of old Stromberg-Carlson my parents had in the living room of my childhood Brooklyn apartment. It was perched on an oriental rug with lots of swirls and red flowersI liked to trace with my hands.
@barbcard As usually, in your message I just hunted a new English word for my vocabulary: snazzy! It is exactly what this song is about and what the Polish lyrics say us: how smart and ritzy today it is to dance the lambeth walk and the whole of Warsaw is engaged in nothing else but studying the step on the left, the step on the right and - in the end - six clappings of your hands!...
And all this - just imagine - a few months before September 1939...

I can only second the previous comments! One of the greatest versions I've ever heard and Sempoliński's vocal is so witty and funny :-)

Frisky and jovial version. Did I hear him sing: "Sensacja! artakcja!"? He's damn right. This is one of the most delightful songs from a musical.
