  • With lot's of love from Bulgaria! I can only be proud I'm part of the Balkans!!!

  • this is hiling my sole from genocid/sasa jovic

  • SING!

  • i can't stop listening to this!!! i just love it so much.... Goran.....you are amazing!!

  • It is very good how you translated (all the words),and I am a romanian girl who says this.

  • I've been looking for this song since 2006. Thanks alot!

  • cudesna je!

  • Does anybody care to translate the lyrics?

The romanian part (2:36 and 5:06), is:

"Inima da-mi-o/ Doar pentru mine/ De melancolie/ Nu ma pot uita/ Vino, haide, nu uita/ Ca mi-e draga dusa"

Which translated to english is like this:

"Give your heart/ Only to me/ Because of the melancholy/ I cannot see/ Come, go on, don't forget/ That my dearest is away "

If I misunderstood the lyrics, please correct me.

And contribute with your own language translation or post a link to a complete translation.

  • So beautiful !!!!!!!!

  • most of the lyrics, are in greek....

  • One friend of mine gave me this present. Is Amazing

  • I don't Know how but a friend gave my a present, and that was this son.Is fantastic, one track sad for a side but it arrive to my heart

  • fucking genius!

  • Wonderful!!!!!

  • "The balkans is a powder keg , but still , Europe can't live withouth it. " Nicely said. As for Romanians , even though a very small percent of our country is part of balkan territorry , we have been influenced by it's culture as much as we have been influenced by central-europe , eastern or western culture . There are some Romanian words in the song because some Romanians are in the Balkans indeed.

  • @aurel882000 bravo

  • Simply fantastic... Thanks Vivalearte1 for sharing with us such an amazing song...

  • @MikoLinux

    Yes indeed. That is romanian.

  • @MikoLinux

Hey, I have looking for these lyrics for a long time, but i haven't find. If you could write it down (in greek) i will be very, very, very grateful!

  • The lyrics may be in greek but I guarantee you you that at some point, she IS singing in romanian.

  • Why must everyone argue what language is it sung in . Where or what Bergovic is.

Don t you people get that he is useing diffrent languages to symbolize the unity. Music is universal and for everyone.

Please stop it for one and just enjoy the music.

    love and repsect

  • @Dinosan it seems that neither my fellow romanians or the grreks serbians so on so forth caught what this means , they present the balkans in this song , all languages are here present

  • Goran Bregovic is Serbian Musician so here we can't argue...

  • ach!!!

  • Please, who wons with the language?

Greece, Serbia, Russia, Italy, Romanian or maybe wons the world with the universal language of the music?

    Eduardo

  • At 2:40 is romanian language all day long.

Not greek, not serbian, not russian, not italian nor even klingon. ROMANIAN

  • @quasimodoJH It's romanian!

  • anyone has the score?????

  • Balkan.....Let the Sunshine In!!!

  • can anybody write down the lyrics PLEASE??? :-)

  • Is the firt theme I heard from The secret of Balkans.Maybe is the best song I have listened

those years.I don't Know why but I fill very plenty.

I like all kind of music but this one have some special to me even I don't Know what it means. Thanks Gorian fot this great theme.

  • Damn! First time in my life I was listening this song and crying, and I understood only word melancholic , thats all. Such a wonderful song, such amazing performance.

  • This song was created and used by Goran Bregovic for soundtrack of Turkish documentary 'MUSTAFA' which is about Mustafa Kemal Atatürk because of Atatürk was born in Thessaloniki from Greece and his family originally from Bitola in Macedonia.

  • Greek: "Don't ask why - the celebration calls for you". Also "melancholic night" here and there. It does say about skies but can't figure it.

  • Incredible - makes me cry and I don't understand a word

  • P-E-R-F-E-C-T.

  • There are many words in romanian!

  • Of yine Brega yapmis yapicagini, böyle bir muhtesem sarki..

...and the tears in my eyes...

I am fan of Goran too and whether its greek balcan or whatever music, we have to realize that it has no borders, no religion, just peace

  • I AM an American and I do not hate ANYBODY!

This is just beautiful music! I am not even sure where it comes from but it BEAUTIFUL!

I don't even know what they are singing but whoever can make music like this, has to be GOOD people! MY kind of people to whom I send my Love and Respect!

  • Komsinice, odobri mi response...

  • Could you add words please?

  • Thank you all for nice comments :-)

  • This song is amazingly haunting with it´s playful harmonies.

Got to this unexpected soultouching piece of music via soundtrack from the movie 'La reine Margot' and I love you for sharing this song with us!

    Thank you!

  • Beautiful music!

I am surprised that it hasn't been used in a soundtrack to a film already.

I have never heard music like this before from the Balkans and it is a musician's music. So fascinating to listen to and amazing, complex harmonies...This music goes directly to your heart. It is WONDERFUL!

    Thank you for sharing this.

We don't get to hear much of this music in the USA.

  • Yes, I absolutely agree, people from Balkan are masters of music! Their music is the same they are - they go directly to your heart too:-) Three weeks ago, I ´ve returned from my second trip to Balkan:-) I miss them.

  • Simply music not noise...great song !

  • the song hasn't got some Romanian words..?..from 3:00

  • Yes! Although they're somewhat confusing...

"Inima demnă doar pentru mine...de-i melancolie nu mă pot uita...vino, haide, nu uita... vreme (?) dragă, tu să ştii..."

Uhm. Maybe my hearing is off, feel free to correct me.

Or maybe we're both hallucinating and this isn't Romanian at all. The song is still great!

  • Yup...it's Romanian :o)

  • Some romanian words, yes. Some :-)

  • We're just happy about our native language being in one of Goran's songs. No one was contesting your claim of 'Wedding' being mainly in Greek :) (well... obviously, I can't speak for everyone here)

Romanian is so often neglected/overlooked that we get excited at the smallest of things. The fact that Romania isn't exactly a Balkan country makes it even more of a pleasant surprise.

Any chance of you uploading more songs from this album? :)

  • GOD BLESS THE LADY WHY SINGS THIS song??????it is almost impossible to sing this song as a opera AGAIN GOD BLESS!!!!

    LJUPCO BT

  • the words are greek, arent they?

  • me gusta mucho el balkan =)

  • Bregovic is actually a half Croatian and a half Serbian and married with a Moslem, so the best representative of Balkans which always have been a mixture of different cultures and for that uniqness that no other region in the world has.....He expresses this through his music...

  • atina 766 thats is one blood belive me only diferent religion and the is sad and tupid but we are serbs after all. sad and stupid :))

  • he is never been married. And that makes me wonder????????? is he OK or he is on the other side????

    I like hem anywey

  • you mean goran? you think goran is gay?...over the contrary..he is married...but i think he likes the momens very much, and is not exactly faithful....as far as i know....

  • @atina766 Ajde bre ne seri budalo, ko da je bitno! A uostalom, on veze nema sa hrvatskim poreklom...Uvek li falsifikujete...ustaska posla...

  • This song is actually composed by Bregovic for Zdravko Colic as "Melancholy", and is very very special version for me, but this is...version from other world.

  • No telling how old that melody is and that style of beautiful singing. Every time I rehear it I am amazed at how beautiful it is.

You would think that when people of different places all got together to play music and eat together and talk about their children and to laugh and find out about each other, that there would be a chance for peace and friendship.

  • I agree with you - you are damn right !

  • Someone should post the Closing Ceremony of Thessaloniki 1997 and the fantastic music that Bregovic composed.

I was inside the stadium and the atmpospher was great!

    Balkans united

  • There is no other place, but Balkan! Balkan is so special, Goran Bregovic is so great!

  • This is very nice music for a place I do not know much about but if they have music like this, I need to learn about them!!!!!!!!

This is truly beautiful and I enjoyed learning about how your place makes music! They should use this in a soundtrack of a film! Perhaps one day I will or someone I know will.

  • Serbs play great music. They have tons of singers - actually Bosnians and Serbs.

  • you just dont andestant ad you never will. and thats a truth. althought you could come ad livehere. mabey you will finally got it.

  • This is the place which the Americans have filled out with hatrade and bombs in the 90's..and which children they have killed...and where they throwed uranium... you should know the place...

  • what you give is what you get.

  • This is the realy voic of the deep soul of the Balkans! God blase that land! My land!
