the 370z does indeed start at just over 27k UK pounds, but comes with very little, if you want the the GT pack, it starts at 31k, i specked mine up online and it came to 38k, so not quiet that cheap.

@nielsboex I test drove both yesterday, and despite 350 having the full-on sport package, 370 felt better in virtually every way, from the build quality, to acceleration, to shifting gears (that new gearbox and syncrev are awesome). Plus, at 6 feet tall, I had a helluva hard time getting in and out of 350, while 370 worked much better.

Based on the looks alone, I think the coupes are comparable, but the roadster version of 370 is MUCH more appealing.

@bodeezy I'd go for the sport version - 370z, but it's a matter of preference due to me driving a midsize sedan for the last 7 years. It's comfy, it's got a back seat, it rides smoothly and quietly, but still has a good amount of power. G37S is too close to that for me.... Right now I want the exact opposite - raw and exciting, impractical and indulgent. On a side note, I want to get a real sports car before I settle down, while the decision is solely my own. Later will be more... difficult lol

@hellario2 Thank you. You're right, harder when you have a family. Had a '91 300zx, & '94 RX7 then kids..but kids are going to college soon & I'm ready to have some fun on the road again. Test drove both & I'm a little over 6 ft too. The G37S coupe had slightly more head room & is quieter. I agree that the 370Z feels more exciting & I loved the gbox even better than the G37. This is a tough decision, I love the 370Z but I'm 43 & the G37S feels right. BTW,wife just got monstrous '10 Camaro SS.

I wanted a 350Z when they first came out SOOO badly. So, I made my reserve, and went to test drive one. Everything was as awesome as I expected, except one thing... it was EXHAUSTING to drive. You are FOREVER shifting in that damn car.

With the 370Z, they have fixed all of that. Went to drive one, loved it, came back to the dealer... where I saw a GTR sitting inside... ruined the Z for me.

I admit I haven't driven the 370, but I've ridden one. It looks sexy, being sleeker than the 350. The rev matching system is genius, and it's a feature that every manual car should have. It makes the ride more comfortable for passengers who aren't in the mood of feeling the jerk during a gear change. I personally don't mind the noise at all, and it's an awesome feeling to go from 0-60 in roughly 5 seconds. I'd choose the Nissan over the Z4 any day.

I don't like the fact that the z4 is being compared to the 370. The z4 should've been compared to the slk while the 370 should go against a mustang. I have a love/hate with bmw's. The cars do look great, perform well, but in my college all the rich kids got one and drive like jerks. In that case, i'd choose an slk over the z4. But in the case of this new e89 version; i'd choose a bmw. Against a 370, i'd choose a GT; a more powerful car and save 10k.

Z4 is a bunch of markets mixed into one. For comfort and quietness the Z4 is better, the fact that it is a convertible appeals to some and the fact it is hard top appeals to more still. However, it would seem to me that if you want a sports car you want the road feel, you want corner hugging, and you want exciting. The 370z has all that, and for less money!

To those who say the 35is would beat it, I say check out the 370z Nismo :P

I would take the 370Z because its a better car for value. I admire the Z4 for the roadster that it is. I think the Z4 would be a better cruiser. The 370Z has more power and is rear will drive so it might be a bit more involved in the drive then the Z4. Plus you can get the 370Z with a convertible top.
