  • love the part at 2:28 when he holds the note and the chorus catches up to him ... a beautiful moment of music ...

  • Palmer is one of the greats. Long live his work and I hope people discover more of it.

  • He looked so sexy in the suit (when didn't he look fetching in a well fitted suit?) and I just love the pain and longing in his voice, he just wants her to make up her mind!!!

I love the use of the album cover motif for the video. I suppose the cover is the "morning after" the events in this video. :) Still not quite sure WHAT he's fiddling with on the cover, possibly a high powered pleasure vibe?

  • Great song that I've never heard before.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Wow, he is GORGEOUS in this video.

  • He was always gorgeous. A real man .. one of the last few.

  • What a gorgeous song.

    R.I.P. Robert Palmer.

  • the woman in this vid looks like an early incarnation of the palmer girls a decade later

  • I it just me but did he have a sly sense of humor?

  • thegreatactor: Yes, I believe he did have a sly sense of humour.

  • he had everything, he is the set bar, that guys like me try and aspire to. Robert Palmer had it all, he was a true musician.

  • What a lovely song. I'm a Palmer fan and I never heard this before. Really nice.

  • impressive bassline. very groovy.

  • It should be. It is the incomparable James Jamerson of Motown fame on bass (recall Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On") ! I just read this on Wikipedia. Unmistakeable styling.

  • So good..Perfection, thank you Robert you are missed.

  • Robert was a beautiful talent. R.I.P.

  • Maestro! para siempre!

  • miss you robbie!

  • this is such a great video and song! wow 33 years ago. rip RP you're an inspiration

  • so which one of them was the fool?

Mr. T would pity him or her.

  • lol! Good one! lol

  • You made me laugh out loud. I love Mr T.

  • Classic! LMFAO!!!! xxx

  • OMG I love it

  • Wow, classic Palmer at his best! Extremely young and sexy! Was I even alive then? ..I think I was...lol

  • I wish I was alive back then.. I would've run after him - with a NET.

  • He was simply amazing. Every single note he hit was beautiful. That goes for all of his songs!

  • BEAUTIFUL GENIUS X

  • My goodness that was a wonderful video. Too bad I wasn't old enough to get Robert back

then. I was 15,he was married to Sue. Oh well,R.I.P.baby.

  • I've heard that the woman in the video is the wife of a friend of Robert's. I wonder why Robert's wife wasn't in the video.

  • "make up" all night long. Lol....?!!!

  • Hey, I was 'trying' to keep it clean...buy you know what I REALLY mean......... :)

  • I got this bitch, utubefanforever off of youtube yesterday, so we can all breathe easier on here.

  • OMG! I just realized how much I miss Robert Palmer!

  • SHE was the fool...for not just grabbing him by the collar, throwing him on that bed...and 'make up' all night long!!!!

    He was so cute!

  • this is a tune for the day . Another great Robert Palmer song .

  • Love this song! Robert Palmer is so underrated...

  • Check out that bass! That's the immortal James Jamerson of Motown layin' down the groove. Robert P. has obviously been doing his homework with a beautiful nod to Stevie Wonder during the bridge. It doesn't get better than this. We miss you, Robert Palmer!

  • Does he chicken out at the end?

  • Palmer should be remembered for this kind of excellent music; this, Sally, Pride and a few other gems.

  • Far too often the REAL SINGING talent gets pushed aside for the flashy over produced deals that offer plenty of show, but not much go.

  • Suprised no one has posted Sneaking Sally Through the Alley, hint hint...

  • Wow, this is one that not even i knew about! I agree with everything everyone else said here

  • Wow what a sexy good-looking guy. Great vocals too. Thanks for this - it's nice to be able to catch up on Robert's earlier stuff.

  • swansnsea: I know exactly how great Robert was. The day he died i got a tattoo done for him x RIP x

  • This is real music. Shit has so much soul and very powerful

  • i'm surprised he made a vidoe for this song. it's not the best from this lp or this period. still, a nice rarity. Palmer was one of the most underappreciated singers. His death went practically unnoticed! WTF?!

  • Why don't more people know how great RP was?

  • Because they just listen to the mainstream music that radio 1,etc play and don't investigate different styles of music.

  • love the song, love the suit, love him...

  • One of the greatest blue-eyed soul voices ever

  • Famous Motown Bassist - James Jamerson - is playing the bassline.

  • I remember listening to this when it came out. It blew me away. Beautiful blue-eyed soul and Philadelphia strings. RIP.

  • No it's not his wife. It's the wife of a guy at the record company he was with at the time. Which i think was island. It was allegedly made at Heathrow airport.

  • It's David Harper's wife. David Harper was Robert's manager and good pal. The management company was Cater and Harper, if you want to get any more info.

  • Love the song, love the man. His voice was stilled too soon and I miss him. Wish there was more of his stuff online, I really would like more.

  • yes I do too, what a foxy talented man, R.I.P.

  • Oh I love this song! It's from my favorite album, too!

  • Is That Robert Palmer's Wife In This Video

  • No, it is his manager's wife.

  • Awesome. Robert at his finest. About time this stuff was avaliable online. Thank you Universal.

  • I think his voice was amazing in this song; it's one of my favourite of his songs. Video reminds me of almost every walk back to a hotel room. Which is not a good reflection on the wife.

  • Great video! RIP ROBERT
