That guy being John Havlicek!!! At least they got the last 2 right. If that wasn't 1 2 respectively, this list would have been crap. Great steal by Stockton too.
Maravich teams sucked because he thought that basketball was him against the other team. No one liked to play in his team, with the excepction of the ASG
It's b/c stealing the ball from MJ in crunch time is very rare. One happened when he came back wearing #45 and the other was caused by the all-time total steals and assists leader John Stockton. What interests me is the fact that the top 3 steals of all time was by the Celtics franchise.
Bird was better than Magic on defense. Magic may have more triple-doubles, but Bird is the one capable of achieving a quadruple-double. He once recorded 30 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists, and 9 steals. He could've gone for that one steal but chose to sit down on the bench when the game turned into a blowout.
haha watch at 4:19, after the guy takes the shot at the endand everyone runs on the court, one of the guys grabs the ball an starts sprinting for the exit
Larry Bird was a fair defender but he was the a GREAT clutch player, whether that meant sinking a three at the buzzer or making a key stop when his team needed one. That steal was fantastic but equally as impressive is the shot by Dennis Johnson---such an instinctive move, anticipating Bird's play, cutting to the basket, making a very difficult layup in traffic...DJ was a great player. RIP.
I always hear people say Bird was not a great defender....yet he has 2 of the all time greatest steals in NBA history including the most clutch theft of all time.

jp3813 4 years ago
wasn't that because the steals were made in the playoffs? i don't know much about basketball so i maybe wrong
nickfastswim 4 years ago
There have been many critical steals that happened in the playoffs. The one by Stockton was from the finals.
jp3813 4 years ago

bird even said majicwas the best he ever saw so case closed
greatufos 3 years ago
So? What case? The case of who's better on defense? Bird wasn't even talking specifically about defense.
jp3813 3 years ago
im not either bird said majic was the best ever thats a fact
greatufos 3 years ago
wilt was best in his prime way better than anyone anyone that knows basketball should know it
greatufos 3 years ago
Again, so? WTF has that got to do w/ Bird being better than Magic on defense? Seriously, you're just bring up random shit out of thin air.
jp3813 3 years ago
So? WTF has that got to do w/ DEFENSE?!
jp3813 3 years ago
check out the dude who got the ball on the Havlicek clip - he runs off with it and gets tackled by another fan. Brilliant.
