Rape cases involving LGBTQ or male survivors are also not taken seriously, as with cases involving women as the perpetrators. Most of the time, the survivors will be blamed: "Well, you are gay, shouldn't you like it?" or "Dude, most people would die to be in your position, and you're complaining?".

I'm a survivor as well. Some things that are not mentioned in here: the stigma society has on you as a survivor of rape - like you're somehow dirty, some survivors who happen to be lesbians or transmen get this all the time: "Oh, no wonder you're a lesbian/transman... but not all men are bad..." Newsflash: Being raped does not change someone's gender identity or sexual orientation. They just are.

i love this song i'm going to down load it. i can relate. I'm a two time rape survivor. first was when i was 14 and the second at 34. been six years since the second. the guys who raped me the charges were dropped by the das office lack of evidence. they got off scott free and i'm stuck with a life senctence of recovery and healing thank you for this video

First of all I want you to know that I realize there are many people who are accused of rape and even sentenced when they did not commit the crime. Each case is different.

I am sorry that you were jailed for something you say you did not do however the answer to releasing this anger is not to attack people you do not know. The things you wrote are very hurtful and degrading something no one should ever say to someone they do not know.

To me it seems that, in the United States, the victims of crime's like rape have to deal with their afflictions vouchsafed by their offenders on a constant. While physical scars may heal, emotional scars are more difficult to vanquish. While the victims have to deal with the life altering trauma, the perpetrators only seem to recieve a slap on the wrist. It is not called the "United States Justice System," nor "The Peoples' Justice System," it is the "Criminal Justice System."
