I never fail to get chills from this poem. I lost what i thought was a good friend until I defended my race to him. Why must we have to defend ourselves? Why can't we just accept and be accepted just the way we are?
This to me is a poem that answers that very question to others and ourselves.
this is so beautiful, when i first started reading it, i was scared to keep reading on but i did, and as god replied, i realized the meaning of such a lovey, soft, sweetly written poem and i could have never written it better, deffinitely mii favorite made mi heart and mii soul both wheep, i love it <3
Thank you so much. I'm 17 years old and my entire life I've been he ugly girl. When I asked someone out they said no because I was too dark. For years I struggled with suicide because it got to a point where I didn't want to live looking like this anymore. Today I just about reached my breaking point and I was going to really do it, but I saw this video. Thank you so much for posting this video. Today you literally saved my life.
I think the black people have been stepped on for far too long. I never could understand why other people had such negative views on them.Really is a strange world we live in today....
Reighn Storm, What a very lovely video, which was nicely done? Great job sister! I found it to be not only beautiful, heart wrenching and thought-provoking but inspirational and motivational as well. So congratulations and continue the fine work. You are blessed among women!
Yes i checked it out, and funny i used to wonder why God made my skin light b/c everybody @ school made fun of it, and teased me b/c my father looked white, but God put too much beauty here on earth too limit it to jus one color so we see all kinds of mochas and peanuts and dark chocolate, and so on, And i'm sorry i really dont see much beauty in pale pinkness, sorry i just dont, but all kinds of browns is SO SO beautiful and i love my skin b/c it's me :)
I was worried at first, because no one questions The Most High! As i read on i realized that a very, very talented person wrote this poem...& that it wasn't what i thought it was. I was on the edge of my seat, so to speak. It's plain & simply "Marvelous"!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing it!!!
That was exactly the feeling I had when I first read it. I almost deleted it before I got the 2nd section of it. It's very beautiful and powerful! Worth keeping.....
@ReighnStorm True, I was told a long time ago by a woman from FABC church that it is the one thing God created in roses. She said, "Just like a rose black people have a variety of shades and beautiful colors to them. From light to dark it's all a bouquet of roses in humanity.
Beautiful.

Why did god make me black? Because we needed diversity, literature, poetry, speech, and most of all, ORIGINALITY.
The african man has been here since day one, and we aint goin no where.
