So you spent all that time and a youtube video analyzing how close a lightning strike was to you? Who gives a fuck really? If it landed a foot away from you then feel free to analyze it
@anonymousstormchaser Sorry man but I'm just saying you'd probably get more views if u had just a (for say) 20 second video of the lighting strike and played back in slowmo. Sorry though I was so heated last night
You got it wrong man! Look at the most important object.. the TREE in front of you has a light reflection to the right which means it struck just right of that tree and slightly behind it, look closer.
Yes I did see that while looking at that picture, that is also why I said 180-250ft away. The line I used in GE is a line of probability if you will. The most likely strike point is the middle house with the gray roof.
is that just a streamer?

Nope, its a ghost flare, its an optical effect that occurs inside the camera. You can see it in many close lightning videos on youtube.

You don't have to be an asshole. Who are you to tell me when I can analyze a lightning strike? I think I know a few people who enjoyed this video.

it's a negative iniated strike but a postive return stroke - which is what you/we see when observing in this shot.
