I wouldn´t buy henna on ebay, some sellers there can`t differenciate between henna for hair and body art quality henna. Some sell the powder repackaged and you don´t know what you get like if it´s fresh or not. Look up online sellers and buy directly from their online store, they import it fresh.

@anonymous2princess24hi, if you can`t find it in stores, there are many online sellers that sell fresh powder and also ready made cones. Henna is the only powder that will stain your skin safely in a red - brown tone.

@Palestine4690 no, dont use olive oil. try to use some essencial oils like tea tree, cajeput or lavender. dont use eucalyptus or cinnamon (they are dangerous). and there are some oils that dont work. you can make your paste without the oil but if you use it, henna will stain skin easily! take a look at the website hennapage - they show you how to make your henna paste and how to "terp it"(add oils)

@teoalivanoglou You can go to an Arab, Ethiopian, or Tibetan store (these are the places I've found it, there may be other cultural stores). Make sure not to buy to black henna, only the brown! Black or other colors of henna have harsh chemicals in them which makes it that color and you may be allergic.

I've also found some with English directions and full ingredients downtown at some of the funkier shops, but usually it's a lot more expensive.

I have a doubt... as far as my experience go jamila henna (the one used in thevideo) has a rather long dye release time... but she says it will take two hours to achieve the dye release.. this sounds a little too fast for me... anyway, very good video!
