@arikaiko no problem my friend :) how long do you train now 80 kg damn.... you train everyday? do you train at home with dumbells or with your own bodyweight?
@vinnerzzz my main training now is with kettlebells and focus is girevoy sport. I am now working with 2 x 24 kg but someday I hope I can train properly with 2 x 32 kg kettlebells
you have excellent movements you waste no energy, I like your use of the kettlebell and even though I prefer to use my kettlebell for Girevoy sport. I am very interested in the explosive power of your punches.... so well done I will steal this workout.
not sure i understand the title of this video? both kettlebells and the heavybag are two different excorsises that cant really be compared and for any fightsports both are usefull but for someone thats not a fighter i think kettlebells would be a better workout if it came down to just one and for a fighter id say the heavybag wins hands down because effective striking cant be thoroughly practiced with kettlebells but that aside both are good for fight training
The title is a bit misleading, yes. I think it is supposed to imply how kettlebell training can be a very effective tool at developing the explosive power needed to throw a strong punch, the "vs heavy bag" part is to demonstrate the results (that is, tearing the bag a new one).
@arikaiko Thanks for the info. I think I will pick up a 12KG KB also. Ive only just started KB training due to not being able to get to the gym (new job, wife, kids etc lol) so any info is appreciated :)
So when you punch, do you have to tense your arm or hold back at the last second? I've thrown a few air punches to see what it's like, and it annoys my elbow. At the end of the punch, my elbow is kinda tugged apart and hyperextends just a tad. Doesn't seem healthy.
its cuz your punching air. Try punching a bag and see if it feels the same. To throw a hard punch you need to be relaxed, and just before impact you should tighten your fist. You need to get as much of your body mass behind the strike as possible. Focus through the target. Mass X Speed = Force. And to knock someone out clip the tip of the jaw, but why would u wanna do that. HA
I have to say very impressive! Not only with practical use, but creativity as well! Thank you............If I see you some where down the road , don't be offended if I offer to shake your hand!
Hey man- thanks for posting this i've been working with kettlebells as a form of circuit training for a couple years and these moves are very creative , especially the uppercut! this will be added to my routine. follow no one. thanks!
