  • this can work given the right circumstances, no technique will always work but with enouf techniques in your tool belt you can have the right one for what ever job u run into... thanks 4 the vid man, u gave me one more tool =)

  • very nice

  • I believe the reason this wouldn't work in real sparring is because the double leg guy isn't driving. In real life even a novice will drive forward/sideways very hard. Then when he tries the counter by jumping he will only fall over... the wrong way, and land on his back.

  • @theguyi26 Ya true, his partner's double had next to zero penetration, and the odds of hitting this move are pretty slim, cause the shooter would have to pretty much just fall right over to get it. And even if you are able to get under, the guy on top can hit a peterson and make this move completely pointless.

  • Great move, I sure could have used that on my friend when we used to wrestle, he was always getting me on the 2 leg takedown!!

  • Nice, makes me wanna get back into judo, damn college.

  • your gym went under.

  • I assume you can do this in regular wrestling? Sorry if its a stupid question, we were shown how the double leg is performed and I think I can handle that but I don't know aout counters

  • Everyone keeps saying that is a terrible double leg... Thats what my double looks like :(

  • not a very good double leg

  • really good videos but i think i can hear the camera man breathing. might want to invest in a stand alone microphone. for more professionalism. great tutorials

  • @BadBackBeast pick up a subscripion to DamageControlMMA,com and help us afford to continue this project... and afford all the great gadgets and gizmos we need to sound super professional. :)

  • i use this move 'cause it's simply effective to avoid ground and take the back

  • Im a tall guy and this defense works great. I truely enjoy how smooth your transition is, made me take a serious look at my own technique. Thanks for the excellent post.

  • ah man that was awsome

  • big eared chink

  • @bugatti264 say that to his face

  • @bugatti264 What is wrong with you?

  • can i try this on my grandpa?

  • @theory816 if you do, might as well go ahead and buy a coffin

  • Interesting. I'll have to try it out.

  • Of course you are just going to make his takedown that much easier if he makes any effort to cut the angle.

  • damn you are an awsome instructor, i cant wait to use this technique

  • meh that guy has to commit to that jab for yer hand to go up high and get out of the way of yer hips I noticed the instructor knew he wasnt going to get punched so he kept his hands low and another point that fat guy is suppose to jab and change levels at the same time its faster and less telegraphed than the takedown he did, also why did he stop once he grabbed thats not full speed that was some fat dude settin himself up to be rolled over like that

  • I love counters like this, I stand 6' 6 and people has a habit of going single/doubles on me. Long legs given them so much area to grab onto and they dont need to get too low to shoot in either. Im use to doing the one where you throw them over you self and sit back down and try to roll over and get mount.

This looks good too, im going to try and see if it works for me in a few days.

  • no offence but going at full speed this takedown if very fast ...u wont have time to drop ur hands and catch him if he doing a double leg

  • @glanester391

In theory yes, but then again many people have honestly crappy takedowns. Like the way it is demonstrated (and yes, I understand it is a demonstration...) I personally feel the attacker does not have enough leverage to give you a clean double leg takedown.

However, he is in a good position to muscle it through if you don't react quickly. Or transition to a single leg.

    I think it's a terrific move!

Of course if you can propose something better... Bring it on!

  • @GoongFooStud i spawl in position

  • There is a variation of this technique, fliping your opponent over your guard so you end up on mount. Both of them work very well.

  • beautiful

  • This is an awesome technique!! I really like the simplicity and it is taught very well! I will practice this one, thanks for the quality video! Keep up the good work and God bless!

  • would this work in wrestling? or will you just get stuck on your back like a turtle lol.

  • Is this legal in Olympic wrestling? Cause the body locking part makes me wonder

  • I used this many times fighting after school when I was in elementary school growing up. After we hit the ground I always finished and won the fight by getting them in a scissors. It was over 40 years ago but it worked.

  • Just remember folks this dosnt work against Brock Lesnar!

  • Brilliant, I knew there was something to be got from double overs from here..thanks.

Tell me, does this work effectively if you backed up against the wall????

    Thanks again.

  • nice and good video.

  • Thx 4 the advise i was looking for a way to counter a double leg.

  • nice move thnaks a lot

  • In a lot of street fights this situation turns up but its more in the form of a football tackle would this counter still apply

  • NICE.

  • pretty cool, thx guys!

  • I actually DID Triangle my moms BF's seeing eyedog. strangely, he never saw it coming.

  • my dog got me in a triangle! I escaped and got leg locked, this move did not work on him

  • Ah, this is good too, I used to do rice bag reversal when Im too late to sprawl, this is good too, gonna try it tonight.

  • I really like this counter to the shot. I have a tendency to be lazy with my sprawls and this gives me another option other than getting slammed on my back. Thanks!!

  • no offense but that is a terrible shot

  • I don't think you're supposed to put your head down when you're doing a double..

I wrestled this guy the other day, he did a double and his head was up, over my shoulder and I couldn't counter it. =_=

  • @604Aron for jiu jitsu you want your head tucked in so you dont get guillotined but for wrestling you want your head higher, so it depends

  • nice move i always grap opponents torso area like what you are doing but i kinda suplex him so it would make no control over my oponent nice move gotta learn this

  • i saw the thai flag lolz

  • OMG im wrestling in high school, anybody know if this is folkstyle worthy?

  • deffinatley folk style worthy just gotta get the reaction time down

  • just make sure you dont land square on your back and let him stick you there obviously. keep your momentum going

  • i wouldnt risk it.

  • This move works tried it on my dog. He came up and bit my stomach, I then grabbed his waist and rolled him. He was like mutha fucka

  • @iwanttofight69 I feel that most dogs are natural wrestlers. They rarely go for submissions, they never pull guard it's pretty much all about top positioning for them.

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT i regularly grapple with both my dogs and they are terrible, if i put my legs up to pull guard they hump it, dog fighting is all about taking the back lol love ur vids

  • @jonny232323232323 You have to understand, Dogs come from a different culture than our own. You see, for them, having testicles or an occasional anus up their nose isn't a negative or humiliating thing. Humping your leg is like submitting you.

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT so i guess i can rest easy that in my own way i did get the tap

  • @jonny232323232323 No. Unfortunately, if you were belly up with your legs in the air and your dog was humping your leg, you were the one being dominated.

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT But i transitioned to the rnc

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT My teacher trained with Erik for a few years in the late 90"s . He fought against Pat Millitech , Jeremy Horn and in Vale Tudo Brazil, he taught it to me and I have taught it to my guys . Is this something you learned from Erik as well ?

  • @wolverinemma, Coach Kiser is a Utah State Representative and I am a Coach Level 3 in Sensei Paulson's CSW Curriculum. Coach Kiser also had rankings in Shooto under Sensei Paulson before he migrated his teachings into CSW. The technique demonstrated here is an adaptation of a technique taught by Ricco Chiapparelli at the 2005 CSW Instructors/Fighter Camp. We host an annual seminar with Sensei Paulson and travel to the CSW Instructors/Fighter Camp each year.

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT Thanks for the reply , and I definetely know who all of you are. I enjoy picking up tips from all of you and would love to go to seminars myself. but I live in Florida and as close as I have seen you guys coming to is Georgia . I miss training Catch wrestling and Shooto but am happy that I got to learn something different even if it was only for a few years. I teach what I know of Catch and Shooto and am proud to have lineage to Sensei Paulson . I wear my CSW t-shirt proudly.

  • @wolverinemma, Man if you can I'd check out:

  • @TakingItToTheMMAT I definetely will , thank you sir .

  • what would be a good follow up after the take down in stead of regaining your standing position?

  • try to get a guillotine, try to turn so you can get the rear naked choke in. stuff like that

  • dayum this shyts awsome....WoW!!!

  • Great move. great vid

  • I always use this after I have a lag reaction to the sprawl.

    THIS MOVE = AWESOME

    THANK YOU!!

  • insane double leg - /watch?v=vZlUl9raXc4

  • i tried that, got my ass kicked thx guys

  • i'm not too surprised. in mma it looks like it might work because they won't see it coming but in normal wrestling that move will put you in bad positioning if you opponet isn't slow and weak

  • hello, I'd have 2 questions (i'm a beginner): by putting the knee on the ground, the guy performing the takedown doesn't lose some momentum?

by placing his neck right on his opponent's side, how would he counter a guillotine? thanks! (nice video btw! thanks for sharing!)

  • Choubix,

hes putting his knee on the ground for the video silly...and if he wanted to counter a guillotine he wouldnt put his head under his armpit and not have it tucked in

  • good video guys. nice counter if you miss the sprawl.

  • man you guys have helped me improve my game so much i really apreiciate what your doing.

  • im a wrestler and i tryed something like this many times only i roll him over my head it works now and then but i would rather cross face.if ur oppenent knows its coming it usally wont work so you can try to grap the leg when this happens when he shoots on you so grap the leg and roll him over ur head

  • thus is for wen its to late to cross face

  • very good.

  • its beautiful

  • I doubt you could pull this off with a good wrestler. Once they shoot, they just keep driving and run you over. I see this working if you drill this move alot and time it just right. Awesome move though!

  • I just have to point out this is 30% success rate but very good against someone with no wrestling position understanding. Reson is when you shot a double leg you dont have your head down. You shot head should be in his cheast or as you turn the corner "bitting his tit off" this stops spawling, crossface and almost every type of counter. If it is a good shot and very good penetration and you turn the corner and have proper head position this move does not work.

  • I'm not sure how better wrestling technique will prevent this counter- so what if the shooter's head is up? The mechanics of this counter are still in play, and if timed right, it works... am I missing something?

  • When you have your head up and in the right posistion then he cant reach over ya. Working with Ricky Lundell and stuff too you cant do that since out posistion. If the guy drops off ya then easy take down.

  • can you pull it of as a big guy

  • Awsome, very nice! very useful and best of all its simple!

  • dude... all of your videos are spot on success

you've got some lucky lucky guys training at your gym

  • I like it... seems like it would work well, not to complicated, not to technical.

  • Being slow on the sprawl this looks like a great option for me.

  • this works

i tried it like five times worked all times

  • Really good advice there! Thanks! Also, good filming.

  • keep up the amazing work!

  • phat

  • I've subscribed, and I love the approach you guys bring to your teaching. Complete, simple, and thorough. Keep them coming, I'm a fan.

  • Really nice!!!

  • excellent, thats all I can say

  • Great Job, I will put that to work.

  • Great Demo. I love your videos guys. Please keep them coming.
