  • What an awesome song for a national anthem! It is very strong, and very patriotic!! Much like the people of Australia :-)

  • The stars make up the souther cross, the star constelattion which is most visible in australia.

  • Screams Australia to me, should be the national anthem. anthems should not be imposed by corporatist elites

  • With all respect.. Who´s Matilda?

  • @matseman46 A Matilda is a bag poor people carry their possessions in.

    Australia is weird.

  • @1dalea canada is weird, you fellas have a pot leaf on your flag. WTF is up with that?

  • @joeb50220 Maple Leaves grow all over Canada. Even different areas of Canada has it unique heritage, Maple Leaves unite Canadians. That's why I will equally respect of Australian flag has a Kangaroo on it instead of 6 seven-edge stars.

  • @matseman46 matilda is actually the swag or bundle the swagman carried with on his search for work farm to farm and waltzed on his back as he tramped along .even if he did not find work nearly every farm would give him a meal and a bunk in the barn for the night .you don,t see the swaggies on the road in oz anymore

  • @1951jmc Sadly. I still call my pack a duffleswag, because it's got everything I need in it. One day I'll go rambling through the bush..

  • This also the Offical song of the First Marine Division, United States Marine Corps In respect and fondness for our friends "down under".

  • @railbottle thanks mate, as an aussie i salute our friends the yankees and hope to work alongside you one day.

  • Beautiful!

  • This is a catchy little number.

  • in a few years time im going to march past to this song graduating from my AAFC Cadet Warrant Officers Course :)

  • What an odd song to march by... That is, if you know the lyrics. Good song, but strange that they'd use it for this.

  • @sorrowsingsoftly One of the greatest songs but not that strange. The Foreign Legion march is all about the Belgians not being able to get any sausage and the Welch Rugby crowds roar "Sosban Fach" when they are winning. That's about Mary's hurt finger and the saucepan boiling over!

  • at 0:08 is exactly when the parade would start marching, cos its like boom boom boom...... boom boom boom..... boom/left foot down

  • AAFC DRUM CORPS!!!!!!!!

  • @Angarse1966 Let’s look at another country USA, what is an African American, to me that is a half cast person with one parent American Indian and one parent African if both parents are German for example the child will be German born in America. Only native Indians are real Americans.

  • @Angarse1966 There is a popular belief that if your father comes from a country you also come from that country, for example English grandfather English grandson or is your grandfather as black as the ace of spades then yes you are Australian.

  • @Angus1966 Fuck you. You fucking pig, how dare you disgrace the memory of the men who gave their tomorrows so we can have a today. Who gives a fuck what generation Australian they were - the first were the proud, and the ones to whom we owe the most respect. More to the point, it shouldnt matter. They were people who had the guts to answer the call, and you should hide your shame for defaming their memory. You're true scum. (PS. Australia is a proud example of secular society at work, dickweed).

  • @Y2KillerSPOOBLY . I am proud of those who served at gallipoli , those men did a great job and i only wish none had to die. England is also very, very proud of those brave diggers. You will never see the likes of those type for a long time to come , if ever again.

  • ANZAC, Gallipoli - never forgotten! Hello from the Russia!

  • @777tommycrown Thanx Bro

  • Love this song. When in the Navy we visited Brisbane and an Army band played on the pier the day we left and this was the last one they played. If my Grandfather had imigrated to Australia like his brother did instead of the USA I would be singing it too.

  • Long live all you Aussie's, we love you all!

Your overpaid, underworked and wish we were there (especially since winters aah comeing) cousins. USA

  • The Australian army has the best hats

  • @MRKnowitallaboutRFOM yeah their hats are pretty awesome.

  • @Whitbywatcher yeah but i have to say the reason for that is the meaning

  • I love that song "The Maple Leaf Forever" it sounds realy good played on the bagpipes.

  • Ummmm, Our anthem (Australia) Is Advance Australia Fair just to let you know...there is really no such thing as an unofficial anthem. Love the Video anyway though!

  • @aviationnoitall "The Maple Leaf Forever" is Canada's unofficial anthem.

  • @aviationnoitall Are you 2 or just unAustralian?

  • @MsSloppyseconds I don't understand what ya mean?

  • When I was 12 I first read about the north africa campaign and the aussies in tobruk. I became interested in the diggers and I learned about this song a year later or so. Being a born german, but a brit at heart (and perhaps even in ancestry) I thought that this song meant "Walzender Mathilda" translation in meaning: "Crushing Mathilda Tank" I thought, that it was quite macabre to make a song about the crushing quality of a Commonwealth Infantry tank. Ach the poor english of mine back then...

  • i love australia!!!!

  • this is the Australian flag.

  • Should have been the National Anthem, we learned this song at primary school in England, though Advance Australia is ok its no where near as arousing as this.

  • @Whitbywatcher hah learned it in primary school in Canada too!

  • played by the Royal Australian Navy Band
