i dont know about you guys but I am so sick of SyFy and their destruction for the stargate series, they have done nothing but kill it, humiliate it and/or made it just plain weird (talking about of coarse the first season of SGY, the last seasons of SG1 and the ending of both SGA and SGU). If i was MGM I would do a Season return of Atlantis like with many other shows, a come back.will do greatly and plus there is nothing good on SyFy Anymore,only good things left on that channel is the re-runs of Atlantis. I think a Come Back Season of Atlantis would do great. THUMPS UP!

@MGazT the biggest problem the series had was that there were no great characters, SG-1 and Atlantis had extremely lovable and funny characters. Universe had none.. I’ve also didnt seen any of the great Stargate humor..SGU = Smallville Galactica United.Keep soaps and teenie crap and all that drama queen garbage out of my sci-fi.If you like that shit go watch Twilight! Hell get Onel,samantha and daneil on the communication device and they would have been on earth in the 4 episode!
@iampotts02 Firstly, Galactica is way better than SGA & SG1, Secondly the characters in SGA are NOT FUNNY. the Humour in SGA is flawed 90% of the time. For example, You wouldn't stand in front of an alien who wants to kill you and spend 20 sec talking macho only to than drop the clip from your gun. That's not funny. its just stupid. Because the alien would have already shot you. And why do u find the characters lovable? Is it a comedy show? if it is it's not a very good one.
@MGazT firstly I havent seen Galactica so I cant say that is better than SG1.But I dought its better.Well the humor was great and that is why half of the people didnt like sgu! Look it up! The humor in all the characters is what made the show so great! Likeable characters which sgu didnt have!Sga might have had some silly humor but it was on for 6 years and I loved it! Well in sgu the characters I just couldnt get into! That is all the show was about! It was a soap show in space!

@iampotts02 Having not seen any twilight, I cant comment much, but I get the jist of the story. tho I've heard Twilight has scenes in it & seen clips that r so stupid that even the writers admitted to putting them in to the films just to take the piss out of their own fans. I doubt its any good, but It still has a larger following than Stargate. All it proves is that just cause large groups of people watch these shows, doesn't mean its any good.

I tried the to watch the first one but I couldnt make it half way!Agreed on that but what I loved about sg1 and sga they didnt have in sgu.That is why I didnt like it at all! Stargate is one franchise, like it or not Stargate Universe is part of it and Universe was planned to play along with Atlantis until SyFy canceled Atlantis and things were forced to change. Because of MGM being bankrupt and SyFy no longer seeing profit in actual Science Fiction plus rumors and lies about Universe (some true) causing the older fans of SG1 and Atlantis including myself not to watch SGU until it was too late It was not the directors decision to cancel Atlantis it was @@@@ing SyFy.
Wish they carried on with Atlantis. SGU was disappointing and seemed like a totally different show. I want to know how they will get Atlantis out of San Francisco back to Pegasus!!!
@jameslyrics Even though I would go back to Pegasus to help the people there, knowing people like the IOA, Pegasus is going to get stuck somewhere near Earth. I think the best they'll be able to get is setting up a new base somewhere in Pegasus.
I despise myself for saying this, I really do, but from what I've seen, it looks like Stargate is gone for good. They left Atlantis and SGU hanging, and it doesn't look like a new Stargate show will ever be made. So, unless Syfy goes and gets FUCKED and someone else claims it, or if the rubblebrains at Syfy office get it through their head and allow the continuation of both shows, we may have to start a riot!
@omnitrixian syfy does not own the rights to stargate, im hoping mgm will give it another full feature movie. they would have to be really cleaver about it, they would prob need a new cast for it, maybe focusing on a new recruit being first assigned to his/her first sg team. by doing this it can do a quick recap of the show so peeps who have not watched it know whats going on. the script would have to be perfect to grab new fans.
this is actually pretty good for a fan made trailer but its a shame this movie was cancelled they shoulda just continued atlantis instead of starting crappy SGU.
Stargate Universe is i agree with LoboalphaMASTER, doesn't look like Stargate anymore. I haven't tried to watch more than 3 episodes. It's just not the same and not nearly as entertaining as SGA. I'm quite sure that SG1 won't get a continue but giving another chance to SGA would be a very reasonable idea. It could earn a lot of money because there would be fans watching the show and i'm also sure that it would attract new viewers. SGA all the way!!!
Don't forget of Stargate SG-1, they haven't defeated the Lucian alliance yet, so SG-1 should continue, the same to SGA and well, i don't know about SGU, i stoped watching for a while, it doesn't look like stargate.

I also got sad when i discovered that it got caceled. I watched all the episodes of the 2 seasons, there is a lot of crap mixed with the good story in 2/3 of the first season. But 1/3 of it was gold, the second season got even better. But most peoples stoped watching during the 2/3s of the first season and that killed the series.
@LoboalphaMASTER I can believe that. To most SG fans it was a step away from what they are used to. But imho that wasnt a bad thing, but thats just me. The second series was epic & if a lot of fans tuned out by that point its a shame & they missed a great action packed show. I remember when I was a kid watching Babylon5, getting bord & ignoring 1st/2nd series. but then I was older & started watching on from 3rd series & it was epic. but I had been too immature to appreciate it in the beginning

We thus know henceforth that there will be no television film Stargate Extinction for Atlantis, nor in succession to Stargate SG-1... And it is very it's a pity... There are a lot of ppl saying SGU was great, and that simple minded ppl just didn't get it..... here's the deal though--- I'm not simple minded... i watched SGU... i really TRIED to like it and i couldn't do it.... SG1 and SGA were large successes and they nixed SGA due to budget problems.,, then dug themselves into even larger holes making SGU... i HATED it... they should have just skipped SGU all together and just make the movie instead-if it was so great, more ppl would've watched it. Period.
@FreyReh SGU evolved fast and really nice . I thought it would be a shitty show but I said...hell It's not like I have anything better to do atm . After the 1st season SGU really evolved alot , and now I started to love it .... It has so many ideas in it , I simply love it ... the characters evolved really nice also... SG1 and SGA were great but they .. well at least SG1 was great from the start ... SGU has amazing potential :) .. last 10 episodes were phenomenal ...

for all those bashin on SGU,keep this in mind: This franchise was amazing since the beginning and is still so, and if u RLLY did like SGA or SG1,u would give universe a second chance. If you really focus on the episodes, you can tell they are trying to make a change and more like the other stargates but retain its individuality. Its people like you that will be the death of the series because you never gave it a second chance...
@Gam3r979 I did just that. And while Season 2 represented a great step forward and more of a SG feel, it was too little, too late. Season 1 was absolutely horrible, and I fail to see how/why anyone tries to argue that. The supposed "realism" of the character interactions and individual actions was highly questionable throughout, and they were essentially without any real purpose or mission other than staying alive. That might be interesting and all, but other shows exist to do that, and better.
Screw SGU, thought it was a disaster from the first episode. SGA movie should happen, no questions asked, sooner rather than later as it would be hugely popular imho.

SG1 and SGA was simple bash and destroy, no real character development... nothing deep, just typical machoism by humanity... it was nice watching, but it wasn't that great... SGU, however, is truly deep and dramatic with a huge sci-fi twist... It's the real struggle and survival of a group of humans stranded far away from earth longing to return home... It is tight to watch them struggle to succeed... It's also very mysterious...

The reason most fans didn't was because it changed the formula for stargate. Stargate had a tone. It had an weekly episode feel unlike SGU which was a large arc. Many people didn't like that and I don't blame them, it takes a while to get used to and I was always a more drama fan then Sci-fi.
@ronnor001 Oh, absolutely. SG-1 and SGA had no larger arcs whatsoever. We only got the "Previously on..." for each at the beginning of almost every other episode. Give me a break...People have short attention spans/memories if they can't recall that SG-1 and SGA cultivated and ran multiple story arcs, and did so much more skillfully than SGU ever managed, even when it showed a marked improvement in Season 2.

I would call SGU. the Syfy soap. the story is to focused on the characters and not the destiny or there mission. i loved SGA and i think sga and its fans deserves atleast a decent send off or for it to be returned. the actors and the story of SGA were brilliant. Mckay was awesome. all of the team was. Sga had humor and characters you can relate to. SGU has none of this and the whole show is boring on half of the episodes aired. i still watch it because i love the stargate franchise so much!
....It may not be a real trailer but I don't see what all the hate is for, I love this, it pays homage to one of the most amazing television shows in existence (alongside SG-1 of course :P) that got cut too short in my opinion, it makes me wanna watch extinction that much more though lol

Well, I would not mind at all if they would have ran SGA along side of SGU, THAT IS WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE! In the first freaking place. Sometimes people make huge mistakes though. So, I forgive them, but they seriously need their head examined.
Okay for those of you doubting SGU and if you have netflix you should check out one episode on season one. I'm saying just one episode. That's all you need to watch because it;s fucking brilliant. It's titled "The Jungle." It's really good. The directing is awesome and the main character in that episode is relatable to us.
Man I miss Atlantis, really hope this film gets the go ahead, SG1 & SGA, were both brilliant in their own way & tbh SGU despite having MASSIVE stumbling points at first did manage to pull at least a couple of really good episodes and ideas out in the end so I will also miss that too.
If this film is not made then were down to Zero Stargate at all, and that would indeed be a shame! :(
but from searches on the web it appears they are planning or even in filming this new film . sadly SGU is being stopped from the news I read and been told about . the same with Caprica which is a spin off from Battlestar Galactica because the viewing figures weren't as expected that too will stop but they still want to do something along the lines of BG ?? and both of them were finally getting interesting .SAD DAYS for syfi fans

@Au7stenThe7IsSilent You're 100% Correct Austen. The down fall of SGU has now shelved the SG movies indefinitely. Metro-Goldwyn- Mayer invested allot of money into SGU. SGA was NOT cancelled because of its emergence. Nowhere was it ever officially announced that, that was the case, it was fan speculation. First mention of SGU was in 2007 (Season 10 of SG-1 & Season 3 of Atlantis) the concept was to run SGU along side SGA but it was cancelled by SyFy. SGU wasn't even green lighted yet.

Stargate is one franchise, like it or not Stargate Universe is part of it and Universe was planned to play along with Atlantis until SyFy canceled Atlantis and things were forced to change. Because of MGM being bankrupt and SyFy no longer seeing profit in actual Science Fiction plus rumors and lies about Universe (some true) causing the older fans of SG1 and Atlantis including myself not to watch SGU until it was too late It was not the directors decision to cancel Atlantis it was @@@@ing SyFy.

I despise myself for saying this, I really do, but from what I've seen, it looks like Stargate is gone for good. They left Atlantis and SGU hanging, and it doesn't look like a new Stargate show will ever be made. So, unless Syfy goes and gets FUCKED and someone else claims it, or if the rubblebrains at Syfy office get it through their head and allow the continuation of both shows, we may have to start a riot!

@omnitrixian syfy does not own the rights to stargate, im hoping mgm will give it another full feature movie. they would have to be really cleaver about it, they would prob need a new cast for it, maybe focusing on a new recruit being first assigned to his/her first sg team. by doing this it can do a quick recap of the show so peeps who have not watched it know whats going on. the script would have to be perfect to grab new fans.

Stargate Universe is i agree with LoboalphaMASTER, doesn't look like Stargate anymore. I haven't tried to watch more than 3 episodes. It's just not the same and not nearly as entertaining as SGA. I'm quite sure that SG1 won't get a continue but giving another chance to SGA would be a very reasonable idea. It could earn a lot of money because there would be fans watching the show and i'm also sure that it would attract new viewers. SGA all the way!!!

I also got sad when i discovered that it got caceled. I watched all the episodes of the 2 seasons, there is a lot of crap mixed with the good story in 2/3 of the first season. But 1/3 of it was gold, the second season got even better. But most peoples stoped watching during the 2/3s of the first season and that killed the series.

After the 1st season SGU really evolved alot , and now I started to love it .... It has so many ideas in it , I simply love it ... the characters evolved really nice also... @Gam3r979 I did just that. And while Season 2 represented a great step forward and more of a SG feel, it was too little, too late. Season 1 was absolutely horrible, and I fail to see how/why anyone tries to argue that. The supposed "realism" of the character interactions and individual actions was highly questionable throughout, and they were essentially without any real purpose or mission other than staying alive. That might be interesting and all, but other shows exist to do that, and better.

SGU, however, is truly deep and dramatic with a huge sci-fi twist... It's the real struggle and survival of a group of humans stranded far away from earth longing to return home... It is tight to watch them struggle to succeed... It's also very mysterious...

The reason most fans didn't was because it changed the formula for stargate. Stargate had a tone. It had an weekly episode feel unlike SGU which was a large arc. Many people didn't like that and I don't blame them, it takes a while to get used to and I was always a more drama fan then Sci-fi.

@ronnor001 Oh, absolutely. SG-1 and SGA had no larger arcs whatsoever. We only got the "Previously on..." for each at the beginning of almost every other episode. Give me a break...People have short attention spans/memories if they can't recall that SG-1 and SGA cultivated and ran multiple story arcs, and did so much more skillfully than SGU ever managed, even when it showed a marked improvement in Season 2.

I would call SGU. the Syfy soap. the story is to focused on the characters and not the destiny or there mission. i loved SGA and i think sga and its fans deserves atleast a decent send off or for it to be returned. the actors and the story of SGA were brilliant. Mckay was awesome. all of the team was. Sga had humor and characters you can relate to. SGU has none of this and the whole show is boring on half of the episodes aired. i still watch it because i love the stargate franchise so much!

Okay for those of you doubting SGU and if you have netflix you should check out one episode on season one. I'm saying just one episode. That's all you need to watch because it;s fucking brilliant. It's titled "The Jungle." It's really good. The directing is awesome and the main character in that episode is relatable to us.

Man I miss Atlantis, really hope this film gets the go ahead, SG1 & SGA, were both brilliant in their own way & tbh SGU despite having MASSIVE stumbling points at first did manage to pull at least a couple of really good episodes and ideas out in the end so I will also miss that too.

SGA was NOT cancelled because of its emergence. Nowhere was it ever officially announced that, that was the case, it was fan speculation. First mention of SGU was in 2007 (Season 10 of SG-1 & Season 3 of Atlantis) the concept was to run SGU along side SGA but it was cancelled by SyFy. SGU wasn't even green lighted yet.

ich habs ja auch nicht selber gemacht das ist ein trailer von sci fi channel für staffel 5 was für jeden stargate atlantis fan oder schauer der die staffel gesehn hat klar sein sollte trotzdem find ichs scheiße das noch sauviele andere schreiben geiler trailer für extinction, weil so viel ich gehört habe ist da bis jetzt nur das drehbuch fertig weil die leute die kulisse abgebaut haben für stargate universe ...
