  • @4eversupersonicgirl Ah X-D No problem :-P

  • Dude... another great composition done! I was amazed by your Zant Battle composition, and now this... You continue to bring great memories of great video games. This was one of the hardest boss battles I've faced, and the music... just brings me back to the good days when video games were actually hard.

  • @exiled4mhell Haha, thanks so much man!! That's such a nice compliment :-D Those were good days indeed :-P

  • Best version I've heard on youtube!

  • Thank you very much! :-DD

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you! :-D

  • sounds like a remix

  • I tried to recreate it to be as accurate as I could to the original, but I guess the sounds I used do make it sound like it could be a sort of remix :-P

  • Lol it does a little bit :-P

  • Holy crap. this is amasing

  • Thank you for the compliment!

  • :-D Thank you dude!

  • @ElectricPopTart18 you're welcome! *subbed*

  • Thanks very much I appreciate it! :-D

  • @ElectricPopTart18 you're welcome! (again, lol)

  • What was the sega version of mario paint...

  • Lol, there was a SEGA game like Mario Paint?

  • yes, there was but, it wasn't as good in most ways. you couldn't choose your tempo in numbers, there was only 3 settings for it, it did have more sound fonts and have a little keyboard but, stick to mario paint, it's way, way better. :) it was on a cart called fun n' games

  • @bearwarlock

it was called fun n' games ;)

  • Oh wow, interesting :-O

  • @ElectricPopTart18

send me your E-mail address in a private message and I'll send you the file if you're curious?

  • Nah it's ok :-P thanks though :-)

  • Mario paint much?

Serious, how long does it take to make such a thing?

    Sounds 5 stars to me.

  • Lol, I think this took me about 3-4 days or so. I'm glad you like it, thanks :-D

  • HOW FAST IS THIS EPIC SONG?

  • I forget what tempo I kept it at here lol. I think it was somewhere in the mid 2000's or so :-P

  • The tempo is OVER 9000!

  • Lol :-P

  • I love this level. I love pulling out my Genesis and playing through all these old sonic games :) I even have the Master system version of sonic 1!

  • Sweet!! I never actually played this level myself :-P but I've played part of the game and I love it :-D

  • I cherish my Genesis. And all the great game I have :)

I would never give it up.

  • Agreed, good sir ;-)

  • I truly Prefer the Genesis over the Snes. By a gigantic landslide.

  • Ooo interesting. I've never owned a Genesis, but I've played on the system before and thought it was awesome :-D But I think SNES is awesome too :-P

  • Yeah. If you reply to my comment something that one would normally reply to, and you don't hear from me in 3 days, it'll be because this song and your others have gotten me back in the Sonic the Hedgehog mood, lol.

  • Lolol, ok ;-) Those old Sonic games were so great, I've played them but never owned them :-(

  • Well if you have a Plastation 2, Game Cube, or XBOX, you can get the Sonic Mega Collection which has all the Sonic games on them (except Sonic CD). And if you have an XBOX 360, you can get Sonic's Ultimate Collection which has Sonic 1, 2, 3, S&K, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast, Dr Robotnic's Mean Beam Machine, and like 30 other Genesis titles.

  • Damn! That's freaking awesome, I need to get the Mega Collection (since I have a Gamecube)! :-O

  • And the previous guy is wrong. You can get Sonic CD. Theres a game for gamecube called Sonic Gems collection. That has all the off standard games like arcade games, sonic CD, and a large collection of gamegear games. So with those two games combined you can own practically the entire classic Sonic Library.

  • Oh wow, that's awesome! :-D Thanks!

  • Nice! Thats damn fast, lol! I loved "Sonic & Knuckles" ever scene I was a kid. How did you get it to play so smoothly together like that? most videos I see of "Mario Paint" have a pause with a CLICK in it...

  • Thanks! And yes it's a very good game :-) The files transition so smoothly together here because this is a newer version of Mario Paint Composer (MPC 2.0). Many videos out there were made using the original version of MPC, where you are unable to play a string of files together and have to do one at a time. Hence, people recorded each file separately and edited them together :-)

  • 0___o

    thats....incredible

    :0

    thats more then a masterpiece

  • O_o Thank you very much!! :-D

  • woohoo!!!

  • :-D

  • WoW! That is so well made, sounds just like the Original

  • Thank you for the compliment! :-D

  • I believe it's super Mecha Sonic...not super Metal Sonic. Lol.

  • Oh, indeed it is lol :-P

  • AWEOSOME :D

  • THANKS! :-D

  • I don't know, but I hope so ;-)

  • Thanks dude!!

  • dudududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududududud! AWESOME!

  • Wow, thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you like it! :-D

  • im going to record this for my ipod! its like an eargasm to me.

  • Wow, what a compliment! Thanks! Just remember to give me credit for the arrangement ;-P

  • If you want after im finished i could send you the MP3 file and you can do as you please with it.

  • Nah that's ok, I have the ability to make mp3s myself ;-) Thanks though!

  • haha ok.

  • this is by far the best version on mario paint composer

    nice work!

  • Thank you! :-D

  • This is awseome!

  • Thanks man! :-D

  • Dont mention it!

  • dude sometimes i forget this is on Mario paint, it sounds exactly like on the game. NICE WORK

  • Thank you!!! :-D

  • wow dude your good at this! you should record a video with all the best sonic ones you did/do.

  • Thanks!! Actually This and Sonic 3 Final Boss Battle are the only two Sonic songs I've done. Right now I don't have plans on making other Sonic ones, but if I ever do I will put the song on my "Planned Works" list on my channel :-)

  • epic win

  • Thanks man :-)

  • epic!

    Just Epic!

  • Thanks!! :-D

  • Sounds like the version for when you're about to run out of rings or time.

  • I'm very much liking the sound of this! Much more epic than Mega Drive version, though for some reason. :S

  • :-D Thanks for the compliment! I like how my version turned out too X-P

  • You know what I'm going to say.

    This song is addicting.

  • :-D

SUCCESS! (in SSBM narrator's voice) :-P

  • i always thought the constant note you hear in the original (changing pitch but not stopping) was the best part.

  • Hmm, I'm not sure I know what you mean... Do you mean a constant held out note or constant series of notes?

  • constant one, i think. but this one rocks because of not having high quality instruments.

  • Haha, thanks! :-)

  • i just finished analysing this and others... more precise ones are more careful and don't sound so fast, this one sounds less "absolutely exact" which makes it sound better for a moving boss.

  • Yeah, I think it's just the sounds I used. I used the Electronica soundset made by Adolfobaez, which has the closest sounds to the original song out of the main MPC soundsets available. They way it came out is slightly unique, but I like it :-)

  • I'm pretty sure if you had finished this for the contest, you would have taken first AND second place.

Just as awesome as Sonic 3 Final Battle. And Sonic 3 Final Battle was pretty freaking awesome to begin with.

  • Dude, thanks a lot! :-P I appreciate the compliment!

  • Wow! This is one of the best versions of this song I've heard!

  • Thanks dude! :-)

  • :-P Thank you for the compliment!

  • Been using a lot of soundfonts and dickspeed lately =P.

I'm not too familiar with the original, but everything seem excellant. It doesn't sound perfectly accurate, but it's really close. Your instrument selection reproduce well the original's evil atmosphere.

As for the notes, they just seem well placed for me and their volume/length is correctly controlled. Honestly, there's a very small number of imperfections caused in majority by limitations.

Another awesome composition! 5/5 + fav.

  • Lol, only 2 soundfont songs so far, but my next one will be in the original :-O

Thank you very much for the compliment! I've been trying recently to make sure my note lengths are as accurate as I can get them to the original song. But my next song won't have that completely throughout since that is hard to do sometimes on the original soundfont...but oh well. Thanks again, Fullnintendo!

  • Another simply amazing video by you. Bravo! 5/5

  • Thanks for the compliment!

  • Wow, this sounds great!

    5/5 + fav

    But there's a mistake at 0:06.

It would have been best if you stopped the lowest note there, it keeps playing for a few seconds.

But rest is just awesome :)

  • Wow, thank you SonicFan!! :-D

Hmm, I can't seem to hear the overplayed note, which instrument is it?

  • It's the mario head

  • Ah I see, good ear! The Mario head runs continue through the dogs as they couldn't go any lower and I forgot to cut off the sound, and then when the dogs quickly rise back up again it leads to the same B-flat Mario head so the sound sustains longer than it should. Good ear!

  • Wow, awesome job! ^_^

  • Thanks! :-D

  • This is the best rendition of Doomsday Zone I've heard

  • Oh that's right! This is from Doomsday Zone too! Good call...I'll have to fix that in my title and description...

Thanks for the compliment though, it means a lot!

  • holy... WOW! this is awesome! i close my eyes, and i imagine sonic facing off against his robotic doppelganger. amazing. just... wow.

  • Thanks dude lol, I appreciate the comment!

  • yeah. but i have a challenge for you. since you're on the subject of Sonic 3 & Sonic and Knuckles, could you try doing Flying Battery Zone, act 1? i want to see who makes the most accurate MPC composition of the song.

  • Sorry, I don't think you'll ever be seeing that from me lol. I feel it has been done so well already by several people, most notably Rusty8984 and Aanuld in my opinion. Their versions rule. I will leave them to claim the fame. Besides, I am currently moving away from Sonic stuff. I am right now working on Cloud Cuckooland from Banjo-Tooie :-O

  • ah, Cloud Cuckooland! i love Banjo-Tooie! then if you're doing that, could you please do the music from the Atlantis section of Jolly Rodger Lagoon? and have you done Treasure Trove Cove yet? if you do, i will be happy, cause i like Banjo-Kazooie, and not many MPC-ers do songs from it.

  • I haven't done those, but I don't know if I will. We'll see :-)

  • I know Banjaro already made Atlantis, and either he or somebody else made a really good version of Treasure Trove Cove. You should check those out.

  • ok i will :)

  • I also never heard it before. But it definately sounds great.

  • Thanks man! :-)

  • Never heard the song, but sounds good nevertheless!

    5/5

  • Wow you're fast!!! Lol, thanks a lot though!
