Oh yea- 2 shows in Chicago on 6-12-10!!! I'll be flyin in that morning, what a homecoming gift. It's been too long since my last SLR fix, even though there's just the 3 playing for Kirk's memory is bad ass!!! These guys friggin rip it up live, go see them where ever you can, guaranteed you will fall in love at first sight. RIP Kirk, you're missed but never forgotten.
Like me she knew Kirk wasn't gonna be with us much longer, then to watch him with this song called...Never Make It Home....hell I was crying as well, just wasn't close to the stage.
@dickship2312 Kirk had esophageal cancer...chemo wasn't working, he was terminal...he wanted to spend his last few months doing what he loved so he quit chemo to be able to do shows, everyone there knew he'd be dead within a few months.
this is one of my favorite bands ever. BUT I LIVE IN CANADA so its hard to get there c.d... i only know of the one with an airplane on the cover ...i don't care if i sound like a newb that c.d is one of the alltime best c.ds ive ever heard !!!!!
i saw them a couple of weeks ago, in KC, as a trio... but kirk's presence was definitely acknowledged and honored. that much energy doesn't just come from three people.
It's a shame that more people haven't seen them or this video. Kirk wasn't around for much longer and you can tell from the way he looked and from the lady crying in the audience. All I know is that I seen them once and it was the biggest middle finger to conventional, radio-friendly music that I've ever heard. Blew my mind and I've loved them ever since. RIP, Kirk.
I've just heard of this band. Yesterday I saw a documentary about Kirk on Silverdocs, it was great.

Nah, she wasn't tripping. Just real emotional shows that winter as Kirk had quit chemo and everyone knew he'd be dead within a few months.
