  • Weird, but appreciated

  • I used to think they were Canadian. I was wrong, of course, but I think it's an honest mistake.

  • love ya amy and emily! happy new years

  • It's impossible to listen to this song and not feel your day getting better.

  • Dude there are parts in that Closer To Fine video where Amy is lookin' hot

  • Love you both!

  • It is sad that people cannot look past the exterior to appreciate the interior. These girls have raw, honest talent. Lyrically and musically they are spot on :)

  • They should come and play this song at Occupy Wall Street

  • "gotta tend the earth if you want a rose"...applies to about anything in life

  • makes ya love decatur

  • This is an amazing song makes me think of starting over and putting the past behind me! Thanks for this beautiful memory

  • Their music is enough to make me forgive their outfits... :)

I love their stuff - so amazingly deep, but yet fun in a way that profundity often lacks.

  • A dark abyss of an emptiness

Standing on the edge of a drowning blue.

  • My favorite. Loved this song the first time I heard it. It really helped me with the "down time" on my walkman in Panama and D Storm! Great lyrics with an intelligence shining through the fun music.

  • Ah, the song that made me a fan.

I first heard this when driving home from work, listening to BBC radio's 'Roundtable', a review programme originally begun by Emperor Rosko (remember him? - now my age is showing).

Got home and bored the proverbials off my wife enthusing about the song. Anyway, went out the next day, bought the album and fell in love with the Indigo Girls, as did the missus.

A lot of good stuff from the girls since then, but this is still one of our favourites.

  • This is my favorite Indigo Girl song of all time. Emily is a great songwriter. She is so cute in this video.

  • Rofl @ whiskeyspray- guys that say things like that are WHY they are lesbians in the first place.

  • One night with me and I'd turn both of those women straight!

  • this song just gets better every time I hear it...and I've loved it since it came out! LOVE THESE LADIES!!!!!!

  • I still use this song to inspire me to get off the couch or get away from the computer, and get to work!

  • I'm a manly Jarhead Marine and I've digged theses girls since my MSU days of 92'

Food for the spirit. Thought about many references my two times in the Stan. There hasn't been many 'artists' who impress me. Hot, dazzling? Sexy. It's shit. It's a can of tuna on the shelf. I dig these girls.

  • I've loved their music for years. Reminds me of Paul Simon lyrics with the truth and intensity (and the harmony is excellent, too). I'm straight and have been to several of their concerts (they don't come near where I live very often) and took friends to introduce them to this sound. They loved it too. The music IS universal.

  • Who are these hippies? I can't figure it out. I like the music, but I am annoyed by it at the same time. lol "MY SEAT SMELLS CLEAN"?

  • @amngilbert Actually, it's sweat, not seat.

  • @ASEL737 oh.

  • @amngilbert its sweat smells clean you inbred no taste having lunitic!

  • @mojohelmet Do you feel better when you anonymously insult people? (I said I like it anyway.)

  • I never tire of the AMAZING vocals of The Girls!!

  • Gayly I claim with this smile, as I look at u straightly in the eye, these girl's have great talent! Go stereotype THAT!!! :-)

    Rock on Indigo!

  • I'm straight, and even I'm in love with Amy Ray.

  • @ThumbprintTheatrics who is Amy Ray? Human love is tempreral but the Love of God endureth forever =)

  • @horsluva0758 ...Um, Amy Ray is the woman in the video.

  • @horsluva0758 Love of music "endureth forever." MUSIC is the universal language!! Enjoy it and please leave your bible-thumping rhetoric for Sunday school, where the poor children have no choice but to listen to it.

  • @JHKFENDER86 GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO I <3

  • @horsluva0758 God is a myth. Go find something better to do with your time.

  • @horsluva0758 Temperal is not a word.

  • @ThumbprintTheatrics ,

I`m with You (on the same page as You) Amy, -both of them- are just GREAT !

  • Genius! just that!

  • its hard to choose my all-time fave song of theirs, but this is CERTAINLY one of them. so inspiring, light, beautiful harmonies, all that and a message?? who could do better? :)

  • by the title, i thought it was going to be that song that goes "what's that they say about a ____ and a hammer?"

  • Perfect song for a day in the balmy garden!
