The Scorpio tries a Jeep

Hi Guys,

This was my Scorpio. I shouldn't have got into the wet grass in the first place with road tires. If I had stepped on the gas, I would have been moon walking. The grass was damn wet. Obviously the vehicle has no diff locks, but it has got good power for a 2.6 ltr engine. I do off-road with a long chassis 3.6 litre Land Cruiser (Troop Carrier) and my 1965 Willy's. No problems. I just have a meager 8 Years of hard core off-roading experience and am learning everyday.

This car strictly for street driving. Just look at the wheel base... its as small as a compact car. If you want to make this an off road vehicle, increase wheel base, put in better suspension and elevate the body. This is an SUV that will take you to temple or church, not off roading

The Scorpio comes with Street Tires (Allweather from Bridgestone) they are are not recommended for Offroad in wet / slippery conditions. The Scorpio has no Diff-Locks

but what you are expecting for this Money ? Its a good Car for travelling on rough Roads.

LOL this is scorpio and is made by mahindra. it is made for indian customer so it doesn;t have much off roading quality and much power. its only made for lot of show offs and highway driving. dun try to make it a humvee or offroading otherwise ur vehicles suspension and engine will die in few months LOL. scorpio ki jaan mat lo hahahah. get a ford endeavour to do the job. or chevy captiva or a toyota prado they rock. scopio is a mid range SUV.

@nimushankar what do you mean? i said scorpio is not a good offroader vehicle. its good for city driving but no offroading because of low ground clearance, lack of power, design and chasis and suspensions. although u can do some little offroading with it. but don't try to make it a hummer LOL. that what i said. please think b4 u comment. regards from a proud indian. :D

@discobubbles Lol... Well what I meant was its not actually all that bad... Obviously you cant compare a mid segment SUV to a Humvee... ;) Haha! But you shouldn't just say the car is bad and its not fit for offroading. For India its a good car... So yeah chuck it... :)

i think driver was experienced but this car scorpio is very poor, rear part of car is light weighted use safari or much better ford endeavor.

Totally agree, you need some 35 inch tires for success full off roading. I had a Jeep and the factory tires sucked. Once i put the 35s on i was a tank lol.

Although it has 4wd, I thinks the tyres were not suited for that terrain,, also the road biased gear ratios didn't help plus the weight of the vehicle..

Its is 4x4 - can't u see the front wheel spin - I guess the driver is inexperienced - better drive in city limits only ;)
