  • Generally, I dont see many traffic lights go Red-Amber... they all just go Red-Amber-Green-Amber-Red... but I answered:

    Red (stop)

    Red-Amber (proceed with caution)

    Green (Go)

    Amber (Prepare to stop)

  • Pause at 00:48 : The third's contestant's name is JIMMY MCINTOSH???

    ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

  • so you guys drive left and none of you knows about traffic rules? i wonder now how i survived my time in the uk :D

  • I don't drive but I would've done the same as Icy Hail. The question says start with 'stop' so people automatically think to end with 'go' (green). I would also consider that to be one 'sequence' since no one sits at traffic lights waiting for the green to go to amber.

The main thing that prevents the mistake is knowing it does not go red and amber when going to green, but it seems like an odd point to base obtaining the correct answer.

  • go but then get ready to stop? dear lord lol

  • @pliosaurus

    Ever seen traffic lights change?

  • What the hell is red - amber? It's Red, Amber, Green. This is a stupid question in the first place, because they're trying to get a 4th answer out of nowhere.

  • @pliosaurus red and amber displayed simultaneously. That is how traffic lights work in the UK... it's either red, followed by red-amber or flashing amber, then green.

  • even i know this

  • this is almost like a trick question, the options were kinda confusing

  • why is everybody clapping?

  • is that amber = yellow

  • @MrIwan09091994 Yes but people will correct you and say amber.

  • this is really tricky.

  • On france it goes:

    red

    green

    amber

    red

  • The fastest roads near my town that are obvious traps to get fines from people. Picture the scene youre travelling along a long straight dual carriage way at about 50/60mph, with traffic light controlled cross roads every so often. Now you clearly see the green light and travel forward, then the amber comes on, no problems so far right, until you notice the amber lights dont stay on, they flash on, then off and BANG RED LIGHT CAMERA ARMED! No joke, theres a 2 second gap between green and a red!

  • and people say americans are dumb

  • They need to re-take their theory tests

  • I'd definitely fail my theory if that sort of question with misleading answers comes up.

  • @sirdoccy There were no "misleading answers." There are four options, you have to put them in order, it's like saying "drive to work, wake up, start car, get dressed - which order?" and then saying it mislead you. It didn't mislead you. You fucked up. Simple as that. ^_^

  • @Camberwell86 I'm sure you know what I meant troll! :)

  • Why would you have a "get ready to go" signal? That's just begging for someone to go early while someone else is deciding not to stop.

  • @mcavic In Britain, most people drive manual cars, not automatic. Some people leave the car out of gear at traffic lights, or just dip the clutch. The red and amber (get ready) is a warning for drivers to make sure they are in the right gear (or in a gear at all). Hope it helps :)

  • probably what happened is they forgot to put red down first so they put B,D,A,C rather than starting with stop which is Red and C so acutally the answer was C, B,D,A so the question was misunderstood like it was for me

  • what a terrible question :L

  • I remember in the movie Starman, Jeff Bridges played an alien who nearly caused an accident when he drove the car. He said "red is stop, green is go and orange is go, but really fast!!"

  • EPIC FAIL

  • What about flashing amber?

  • wtf is red and amber on a traffic light

  • @MrPapdogz In Europe the red and yellow lights are on at the same time after a red light to tell you the green light is coming on in a few seconds. Most people drive manuals here, so it gives you time to get your gears in and work the clutch.

  • @SprecheDeutsch Actually, in Belgium there is no "red & amber", it goes straight from red to green, but I suppose in most European countries "red & amber" is the standard. I take it in Germany it is, although I haven't driven there in quite some time.

  • @nicolibri haha, yeah I noticed that when we drove last time for the Spa Italia meet. Made me feel like I was back in the US.

  • One word. Derp.

  • 0:48 his voice was like holy shit every1 got it wrong -_-

  • This is absolutely heroic :P

I don't drive and I got it, however if you don't think about it then it's quite obvious where people go wrong, haha.

  • Really, Brits! And you call Americans dumb!

  • @gole311 least we don't go out on the first question

  • @poolmaster18 No that happens in Britain. And this was an EASY question and the host said "hopefully they all got it right..."

  • damn i fell for it -______________-

  • I wouldn't say the question was worded in the best way...

  • OMG I got that right and I don't even drive!!

    C B D A

  • 10 People didnt get home that night

  • they could've high5-ed

  • the third guys name is mcIntosh

  • I have no idea how anyone who is a full licence holder in the UK could have got this wrong ... but then again the hours I waste in traffic jams caused by pointless and worthless idiots who have no idea how to drive probably proves this ...

  • Red

    Red - Amber

    Amber (still amber)

    Green

Thats what i did, im sure most of them did that too. kinda a badly made question imo

  • @IcyHail huh? Or your just retarded like those on the show?

  • @IcyHail its not a bad question the lights never go from red and amber to just amber they go straight from red and amber together to green then amber to red then red and amber again

  • @IcyHail Is amber basically yellow in Britain?

  • @Skillet7890 Yes

  • @IcyHail not a badly made question at all because amber is never by itself after a red ¬_¬

  • @IcyHail I hope you never get a driving licence then.

  • @IcyHail ME TOO!

  • In fairness, I've shown this to a few drivers, all of them perfectly competent, and they all said they would have struggled to answer this quickly simply because after years on the road they don't think about the processes as much as they used to. I think you can get too hung up on things like this, as long as you know what's going on when you're on the road then you'll be ok. That said, I can't believe that NOBODY got it right, especially since they took up to 8-ish seconds to answer.

  • This show was broadcasted on 23rd of november 2000, just out of intrest :)

  • Were they all Asian or something?

  • @kingjack9999 no dude...asians cant drive :P

  • @uNamed2lyfe They ride camels

  • @Njzizskmp lol...

  • @uNamed2lyfe but they can ride motorbikes

  • @Davis2Nguyen yeh lol, only motorbikes...that too suzukis and hondas. not harleys =]

  • JEEZ! I hope none of them are drivers!:)

  • Well now you know that they are bad drivers.

  • Chris's reaction is so funny!

  • Because Amber is the first color you can think of to slow down... =___=

  • I suppose that everybody missed because that the UK has more roundabouts than intersections with traffic lights.

  • why is there no 1:10?

  • I got the two involving Amber the wrong way round.

  • a ten yr old kid (me) got it but no nerds

  • its red then flashing amber?

  • @mw0305 - Thats because Americans are stupid.

  • how did i get that wrong -_-

  • I have to agree with Chris on this one.

    Ha ha ha ha!

    Now I'm a little embarssed...

  • If I'm in England, I'll stick to a bicycle. :P

  • Red - stop (But only if there are cops nearby)

Red and Amber - about to turn green (Just go already)

Green - go (Hurry the fuck up)

Amber - about to turn red (Quickly now! You can make it!)

  • @TheLordOfBugs So true!

  • @TheLordOfBugs Lmao

  • @TheLordOfBugs *CRASH*

  • @TheLordOfBugs You can't get away with running a red light in the UK, 'cause they have cameras on traffic lights so they'll catch your number plate!

  • @TheLordOfBugs ROFLMAO

  • And they smile ... "HAHA YA I GOT IT WRONG AND I AM LEGALIZED TO DRIVE :DDDD" - Morons.

  • That proves how most , I repeat 'most' people think the same. U n b e l i e v a b l e

  • people from other countries act like there hasnt been at least one person who got a dumb question wrong. Like America has the entire population of stupid people. calm down we all have our idiots

  • im not even old enough to drive yet and i got this right LOL

  • ROFL WTF!!! and this is the uk show...what the fuck you all live in the uk yet dont even know this shit.... hahahahaha

  • noobs!

  • lol i never even went to the uk and i got it right :P but i guessed :)

  • Yeah, either these people all had one of those brain farts, or they should never be allowed to drive ever again.

  • these dumb motherfuckers should use the red green and yellow color... hahahaha red and amber.. bitch

  • @958933 lol you retarded usa fool! uk got the red light system wrong, yet we drive with curvy roads, you drive in straight lines in automatics and still manage to crash! HAAAAAAAAAAAAA

and also.. how many usa people failed there first question! FOR EXAMPLE "whats the sign to symbolize a list" A) colon B) period C) question mark D) explanation mark .. "with my USA voice i say b cos im a retard"

  • Similar happened to me on a cycling test, question was "what comes after amber on a traffic light" and i put green and the answer was red, and that was where i got told it goes "red and amber, green, amber, red."

i failed my test for riding a bicycle on the road because of this question!

  • And he is up there talking crap that everyone should get it right.

  • I guessed it right! And I dont live in UK

  • I don't drive and knew this!

I think of it like red and amber being "negative" but green being "positive"

2 negatives makes a positive then after that it's logical, red means stop, green means go and the only one left is amber.

  • lolol this was funny :')

  • lol if you fail this one you are stupidest man in entire history of world lawlalwl

    >everyone gets it wrong

(shit man, play it off as a joke before they take it personally)

  • 1 second after this clip the police came in and took all of their driving licenses away, cut them up, demanded their car keys and issued a permanent ban from using the roads in any way shape or form, then upon leaving punched Chris Tarrant in the face!

  • Call it Fastest Finger Second!

  • i always thought amber meant 'get ready to go'

  • i would have thought :

    green

    amber

    red & amber

    red

  • @gabrielcrimson Here in the Netherlands that would have been correct too :D.

  • that's just sad and it means that the sequence doesnt make sense then.

  • OMG!!

  • how is green not last??

  • This was right after Judith Keppel won the first ever million on the show so maybe that helps to explain why nobody got it right- they were still in shock.

  • I love the second of silence looking at the table!

  • I thought:

    Red and Amber

    Green

    Amber

    Red

  • I got it right and I'm not from the UK

  • Wow even i know, and im 12

  • TBH It was abit confusing I had amber just before green

  • OMFG i watched this episode I GOT IT RIGHT, NO JOKE I DID AND I'M ONLY 16

  • @MegaPepsimax

    OMG WOW INCREDIBLE....

  • @WestBromSte XD, i was a big fan of this programme until i went off it, i watched every episode and this was the one i watched and got it right, but if i was up there i wouldn't have won the first question unless it was: "So how did you win that question"

  • TAXI

  • and they call Americans idiots when they don't understand something they all should know?, I knew what it was and i'm from the U.S. where its just red, yellow and green

  • @tigran914

wow your so smart. It is obviously a lot harder when your on national TV racing against 9 other people .

  • @evildog100 they are all drivers, they should all be capable of answering that in 2 seconds

  • Love his laugh when no-one gets it :D

  • They don't have cars then....

  • That's what I said...but I am from the US...:P

  • U MAD BROS?

  • it's amazing how many people see this a few times every day and still don't know it.

  • trick question

  • Stupid question

  • Britain need to reform their traffic lights. Not that I am saying it is bad, but a whole separate signal for get ready is a bit excessive.

Unless I am missing something about the existence 'red & amber' if someone wants to shine some lights on it. No pun intended.

  • the question was not clear

  • What the fuck is amber.

  • @Fadgewufflesftw Orange-yellow.

  • I'm not even British and I got this right

  • THERE IS A RED & AMBER? WTFFFFFFF

  • I got it wrong, too. I thought like an American:

    Red = Stop.

    Green = Go!

Amber = Speed up, you can make it...

Red & Amber = Nope, too slow, sucker. Gotta stop.

  • @1manwalkingfreakshow Americans don't even have an Amber on their traffic lights...how could you have thought like an American.

  • For the record does anyone know who eventually got in the hotseat and what year it was? Thanks.

  • In Germany SHow this happend 4 times...right after the other question.

  • Comment removed

  • Put subtitles please

  • @DayDreamAscent Well, they laughed at the ten stupid idiots and I would have, too, if I was there.

  • @DayDreamAscent Your an idiot if you didn't understand that question. It seemed pretty clear to me.

  • @johnnyenchilada yeah but nobody asked you, you worthless sheepshagger, so go back to your wife

  • I was wrong too :P I said

  • @TheJamesgordon43 nor Scotland.
