Can you use Google docs spreadsheets instead of excel? Therefore students don't have to have office to use these files, Excel is an expensive tool, and I am not sure how well Openoffice handles these files.
The formula written down in the beginning is actually the density, while it is said that is the "probability to get any x". Maybe it is a didactic trick since it might give the right intuition, but strictly speaking it it false, the probability to get any specific real number is always zero. The probability is obtained by integration over the density.
Hi Sal, I am ardent follower of all your videos.Just wanted to ask you from this video on convergence that why does difference between 2 distribution dips, then increases drastically and then again gradually decreases? Why doesn't it gradually decreases from the begining?
For everyone that likes to workout!!! To make sure you have the most effective workout possible make sure to use our great Torch products. Just go on my channel and look at the great Torch videos. Thes eproducts are great. You will get the best workout ever!!!
1. Excel cannot store numbers larger than 9.99999999999999E+307 i.e. FACT(170) is the largest factorial it can store
2. The sawtooth patterns occur when we have non-integer right/left moves (rows 9 & 10) i.e. when trying to evaluate non-integer factorials (which Excel doesn't do intrinsically. Require the gamma function which needs to be programmed in).
How did you set up the spreadsheet to look like that?

very nice stuff.
I think the weird graphs come from the fact that you are trying to reach an odd final position using even number of trials.

Looks like there're actually two errors Sal,
