Well, when you think about it, nobody had ever played anything like it in those times. The only thing that can possibly come close are RPG's where their response to any one of your chosen phrases are already mapped out ahead of time, whereas with Abe's Oddysee everything is totally dynamic.
@SomeShows Games are no more emersive today, instead they are pacifying. Very little thought required. Before anyone disagrees, look up the hours COD4 clocked up. Oddworld is the thinking mans game, sadly they are very hard to come by these days. Have been so for most of the decade. Very sad.
My god, it still exists? I thought they merged them with the Jampacks back during PS1. How on earth would they do it now, given that everything's available for free demo downloads or available online anyway?

They're merged with Playstation Network and the Playstation forums.
the demo disk are now called "Qore" , and they're downloaded.
