wow.. I really liked this!!! haha And I don't know what it is but your accents (I'm American soo) just seemed to fit perfectly with the story!!! haha I really, really enjoyed this! Great job!
And for anyone saying they're tired of mediocrity being applauded, at least these people are actually doing something that interests them, while you sit safely tapping away at your computer.
You're not even posting constructive criticism, but simply saying "it sucks and that's it." makes you pathetic.
and i am getting sick of people praising mediocrity! worse Murakami's adaptations of great stories suffer greatly so these are just poor adaptations of Kawabatas stories twice removed.
This is a pooorly re-worked rip-off of the Great Yasunari Kawabata Story, The Bell Crickets. Kawabatas is deeper and richer with imagery and forlorn unrequited love. REad the 2 together for a real assessment of murakami.
Not exactly perfect. Sometimes lame (especially at the very end when the lady smile at the camera unintentionally) but a great try...it's hard to visualize Murakami's work.
Really smartly done. Mirrored the contemplative vibe of Murakami nicely. It's made even more surriel by seeing what is usually imagined Japanese in a Scottish setting, with Scottish accents. Praise Praise Praise lol
Wow, this is awaesome! Particularly as this is my favourite Murakami short story and I'm from Scotland! You guys encapsulated the story brilliantly, with beautiful understatement and the same mournful longing that i felt when I read it.
By the way, is the scene on the roundabout between the shore and the Brunton? If so my mate used to live in the bungalo in the background!
because it wasnt the right story!!!

It's not supposed to be exactly alike.
It's an adaptation.

It captures a lot of the melancholy of the story.
Really fantastically done. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

the acting was questionable, but i guess it wasnt a bad considering the low budget and at least they attempted to take on Haruki Murakami. So props.
