  • I loved both of them. I think Tom Jane is a better punisher only because he loves Frank Castle. Although that said. Ray Stevenson if he were to bulk up just slightly more would be GREAT for a Punisher TV series, I think. Since they're doing one. I'd be happy with either one.

  • As i stated before, if you want to see charisma, watch Ray Stevenson in Rome, you will get all you need. So it isnt him who doesnt have it, to say he is a horrible actor is retarded, and i am in no way a Stevenson fanboy. Anyone who thinks the Thomas Jane Punisher was better than the Stevenson one is just a victim of hollywood bullcrap. The 2004 Punisher was absolute trash, not even Travolta could save that movie. War Zone got it right, and got it right for the fans, not fair weather fans.

  • jesus christ people, you bitch stevenson has no charisma, Castle has no charisma! he needs no charisma. This isnt your hollywood, X-men hero movie. Castle doesnt do things to make people think he is wonderful and charismatic, its mroe than that. Castle's story is something we can all relate to, i mean who doesnt wanna take a scumbag criminal who gets away with murder and just butcher him and shoot him up? To say Stevenson has no charisma is just wrong, it wasnt call for in this role. Watch rome

  • all 3 movies were great. the 1st, ok, it was old and for then, it was awsome, now the 2nd, was way better, better actors, acting, quality, and those of u who say it's not like the comics, actually, the scene with mike and the ice cream, is in the comics. BUT the 3rd movie, is the best because 1) It show the real story(his family murdered while having pic nic) 2)better quality of picture and 3) jigsaw is indeed castle's enemy and punisher never thinks or has plans, just acts without mercy.

  • why the fuck is everybody arguing over who the better Frank Castle is?! Jane and Stevenson both brought something to the character, so stfu. seriously. and about which MOVIE is better: they're both great. War Zone stuck to the comic book religiously and the first one was more of a, "retelling", if you will. both are amazing movies. 2 of the best out of all the Marvel films. so stop arguing and enjoy both!

  • Just saw this movie last night and it was awful. Hearing Ray Stevenson in a few different interviews, you can tell how genuinely he cared about making a great Punisher film. Too bad, cuz the colors and cinematography weren't bad. The story was bad, acting was terrible and some of the cinematography just didn't work. And I hated the chandalier scene, hasn't that been done to death yet?

  • I saw it last night and it was crap. I love the Max series, but I don't think this movie did true justice to the character. They some what got the origin right but fucked up AGAIN by trying to update castle. And not to mention the horribly shitty acting. Once again they got the perfect actor to play The Punisher but wasted his talent. There's much more to Frank Castle than just blowing shit up. Read anything Garth Ennis wrote for him.

  • I just think they should have worked a little bit more on the villains. It seemed like they were just forcing you to hate them by doing really mean things, but they really didn't talk like they themselves were badass.

    The villains just seemed more 'funny' than evil... I mean They just didn't seem dangerous. Most people they killed weren't even expecting it; or he did it because he was throwing a fit....

    O.o very good action scenes though... REALLY good... JUst sucky villain acting.

  • Whoa, no need to insult Tom, but I totally agree that Ray was 1,000 times better. As awesome as Tom Jane is, he just doesn't look brooding enough to be the Punisher. Ray, on the other hand, was 100% like the comics. He could kick ass and take out criminals, no sweat, but there were also parts where you could emphathize (sp?) with him. I think that War Zone got the Punisher 100% correct, and we need a sequel. I hope that it makes all of it's money back & more so we can get a much deserved sequel.

  • NO! Punisher: War zone has nothing to do with Thomas Jane's Punisher movie. Jigsaw is a mobster named Billy "the beaut" Russoti. Frank throws Billy into a glass cutting machine to finish him off; however, Billy survives, but his face is completely ripped up and in pieces and needs to be sewn back togeather. Hench the name "Jigsaw"

  • Jigsaw was not in the second movie. This is completely different punisher and true to the story. Jigsaw is the main villain in the Punisher comics and the 1 who killed Frank Castle's family. Atleast his hired hand did, who ends up getting killed by him. He is a ruthless criminal who is very skilled when it comes to killing in general. He was known for his good looks until frank fucked his face up. I think he got thrown out a window, but in this movie it looks like he gets thrown into a shredder

  • ennis didn't want to touch jigsaw because he was such a cliche character. Which is why he created better villians like the russian and the barracuda. I think he made the right choice myself :)

  • The reason Ennis didn't want to do Jigsaw is because he thinks the idea of a rogues gallery is antithical to the idea of the Punisher and the Jigsaw's death wouldn't "mean anything."

    Now that Ennis is unnecessarily bringing back Ma Gnucci, kinda destroys his arguement.

  • Your right about that hansstrangle. The Max Series is one of the best Punisher runs. Even some of the character from the Max series are in this movie including. Nicky Cavella, and Ink from the story "In the Beginning. Maginty from "Kitchen Irish", and Cristu Bulat from the story "the Slavers". This just a few of many in this movie. This movie is going to be great.
