  • The argument and legal wranglings have gone on for far too long! All Kevin Brownlow wanted to do was to restore Napoleon to to its fullest available version. Carl Davis is a wonderfull composer. If the Ford Copola version is so great, why is called a restoration when it actually runs SHORTER than Brownlows version! Thank heavens Mr Brownlow 'discovered' an extra half an hour in some film archive!

  • US screening with Carl Davis conducting in March 2012:

  • @MindbenderMilo URL won't publish, but screening is in Oakland & tix are available through San Francisco Silent Film festival site.

  • @MindbenderMilo Carl Davis score has nothing to do with the film. The Carmine Coppola score is superior, but the original Arthur Honegger score holds pride of place.

  • I saw this in a cinema in the UK years ago, the extended version with the wonderful Carl Davis score. An unforgettable experience!

  • @kniphofia The Carl Davis score has nothing to do with the film. The original score by Arthur Honegger should have been used.

  • I saw this in St. Louis when Coppola released it with his father's soundtrack. Incredible experience for a 17 year old kid who loved making films. I love all the montages and the music.

  • I just got done watching this movie for the first time and it was incredible. One of my dreams is to see a screening of it with a live orchestra like this. And this sounds like it's the longer version of the film.

Coppola makes me so mad for refusing to have the longer version released. I wish something coud be done.
