  • I heard there might be a new show of Soild Gold but they might call it Soild Platium insted what you think folks a new series or will it always be memories for us.

  • No problem - I can see your point, and I still loved the clip regardless!

  • You might want to fix your title card in the clip, as Andy & Marilyn hosted the 1981-82 season of "Solid Gold" - Rex Smith and Marilyn did in 1982-83.

  • @DENo1MatchGameFan - never mind. I see what you're saying and you are correct. Big typo on my part. And at this point (3 years later) it may be time to update this post just to improve quality, but I don't think I want to lose the view, comments and ratings on this video by taking it down to re-post a new one to make that correction. But thanks for bringing it to my attention. Sorry for my error.

  • ok where's Andy Gibb???

  • He's the guy singing the theme with Marilyn McCoo in the closing credits.

  • Well just so ya know, during the 81-82 Season, w/the success of Solid Gold, Paramount Television gave us Entertainment Tonight and also, we still had Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley

  • even better, this is CLASSIC Solid Gold

  • this was ALWAYS my favorite version of the closing theme. Thanks for sharing.

  • i don't know why i don't remember andy gibb being on solid gold at this time. i remember dionne and marilyn alternating, but i just don't remember this. and i was an avid fan.

  • Many of us Andy Gibb fans loved seeing him on Sold Gold, sadly he is no longer with us.He was an excellent host & great singer

  • Awesome Duet take of this theme. Andy Gibb did it Justice with Marilyn Mccoo. Thanks for sharing this with us!!)

  • Glad you liked it. You're welcome!

  • Never thought "Solid Gold" would make a good duet.

  • Well they tried it for 2 seasons. With Andy & Marilyn and Rex & Marilyn.

  • Myfave open and close scene.

  • This is probably my favorite ending version. Andy Gibb's voice makes me melt, and he meshes really well with Marilyn McCoo.
