Does anyone else's VDC annoy them on the highway while taking a moderate/sharp curve at speed? Mine makes hideous noises, the brakes click real bad and it makes grinding noises. And thats when I am in full control of the car- not even coming close to slipping... I usually just turn it off completely.
Is that what that is? I was hoping it wasn't just mine. I first noticed it when screwing around in the snow (only while turning). It sounds aweful, like it's being very hard on the car. I thought it was the differentional - I was kind of concerned about it. In any case, I love the FX45!
people, in order for your fx to perform, you have to turn the VDC of so it doesn't cut power to the wheels, of course use it going down the street, but if theres heavy deep snow turn it off so you have wheel spin to each tire. Its exactlly like the murano VDC, except I don't think infiniti has the all-wheel lock mode like the murano
i've done this with my 45. just the road was dry and my buddy was stuck in the snow. this was far better because the fx has a "snow" button and literally digs in the snow.
they're not good for off roading but if its snowbanks... they rape! haha
He is definitely gonna fuck his AWD system since the tranny as well as the awd are derived from car based system and they're not meant for that kinda towing...
snow mode controls uses low-end torque to control the wheel spin so you basically it takers a lot longer to get up to 3k rpm. you switch it on and you can feel a difference..
I don't remember I might not have turned on snow mode :(... it's dangerous for AWD is not it? :( aand after that there is something hapenning(bad) in the gear box :( I don't mind INFINITI FX is great!!! :):P
AWD isnt good for snow though, its good when you lose traction at certain wheels but not at others. im not sure what snow mode even does, i will never need nor use it most likely. if you are concerned with snow, get snow tires.
actually the attesa-ets is pretty good...considering it was derived from the skyline GT-R...it might not be like the quattro for weather or subaru's awd..but its more of a performance type awd..the tires are crap though...but again the attesa-ets is probably better than most systems out now
ship the car to somewhere where it doesnt snow , that is a road car , my moms almost got stuck in some loose sand lol

Tell that to all the audi guys. AWD is awesome in snow. You just have to know how to use it properly.
MisterBaz1 3 years ago
the AWD in the Infiniti is pretty bad and dosent tranfser power to wheels like the Audi and VW one dose.
pluse the FX has street/summer tires.

A stock VW touareg with summer tires can mud as hard core a a jeep wrangler with 35 tires.
my mom had a FX50 sport(until i fucked it up tr=ying to off road at spring crekk here in texas)
The fx can do shit offroading or at least in mud or steep hills.
i mean it was sorta embarrassing to have a $70,000 crossover that couldent offroad
sterlingnobles 2 years ago
I guess this fx is not made to go offroad, How comfortable is it on road? I keep reading abt harsh ride. Which car replaced your fx?

anyone who takes an fx offroad is a dumb fuck....
