  • I've been looking for a tutorial on how to install VMware player with Linux as the host OS. Everyone seems to be using Windows with Linux as the virtual OS. I have Ubuntu 11.04 on another drive but I can't install the fucking thing cause of the complexity of the command line shit. I'm really frustrated... and I want to do this because I was told that everything runs faster on Linux, blah blah, but I've yet to see it cause I can't get it to work!!!! Any ideas???

  • do you need a 64 bit PC to use a virtual drive or machine?

  • no. you only need a 64 bit computer to run a 64 bit guest os. if your guests are all 32 bit, then a 32 bit host will work fine.

  • my vmware is lagging

  • how did you get VMware on ubuntu?

  • awesome music!!!

  • commmmmmmmmmments

  • any tutorial or anything?

  • Hey, how did you manage to transfer a file from the host OS to the guest just by dragging it??? i use Vbox and i didn´t even imagined this was possible!

  • U2 aint no "little" band lol thier huge

  • man i've liked this song just forgot the name of it please someone tell me the name of it. i like your video.

  • It's called "One" by a little band named U2.

  • Sorry, this version is U2 + Mary J. Blige and was recorded during the band's 2005-2006 Vertigo Tour. The original is from the Album "Achtung Baby".

  • That was interesting! I'm using Virtual PC 2007 SP1 @the mo' but will try this VMware option out.

BTW, that was the most POWERFUL song I've heard in ages...

  • what if you downloaded spy sherrif on a vm ware and put it on your real desktop?

VMware: the new way to infect your hard drive!

  • It doesnt put it on your desktop

  • do u have to have the os some where or does it come with the program? i mean like if i want to run xp on my vista machine? can i do that without paying for xp?

  • You should make an ISO of the OS before you can run it in VMware, which means that you must have the CD or DVD with you.

  • i can't use vmware...

  • why? Vegetarian? :-D

  • That was funny

  • very nice! check out my vids for some virtualbox action.. they are both GREAT ways to migrate to linux sucessfully :0

  • How do you make this?

Nothing tutorials of vmware on youtube!

  • Be a nerd! Google it :P

  • Thanks.

  • I download and install vmware player and i download ubuntu.iso file.. then what ?

  • Burn the ISO, restart your computer, and install Ubuntu. From there I'm sure you can find guides on Ubuntu forums for how to install either VMWare or VirtualBox.

Keep in mind though, unless you have a high end computer, you'd be better off running most programs natively or through WINE rather than through a virtual machine.

  • i have Windows 98 on my own Virtual Machine on VMware but i cant connect it to the internet anybody know how?

  • use NAT network option in vmware

  • can this run on window vista

  • should... but why the fuck r u running vista> suckiest os EVER...

  • dude did u pay for vmware?

    "Desktop 3D effects

Compiz Fusion is enabled by default and will bring 3D desktop visual effects that improve the usability and visual appeal of the system. Ubuntu 7.10 automatically detects whether the hardware is capable of running compiz; if not, it falls back to normal desktop. Additional effects can be enabled in "System/Preferences/Appearance" under the "Visual Effects" tab. There you can also disable the effects entirely. "

  • please tell me how can i drag my file... tnx!

  • I love it.. i want to do the same now.

  • wanna swap computers?

  • Whoa- I didn't know you could run multiple instances of VMware Player. I setup my xubuntu box w/ VMware Server (also free) so I could run multiple OSes / appliances @ one time. Still a n00b, I guess. What are the pros / cons of the player vs. server? I know the player won't let you create VMs, but comes w/ a smaller footprint, right??

  • I love the song whats it called

  • Its "One" by U2 from the album Achtung Baby

  • can u please do a video showing how to install and get the opperating systems?

  • do them operating systems come on with it?

  • jrstravino, how the hell did you get it to transfer files between the Host and Guest OS simply by clicking and dragging? I'm running the newest vmplayer compiled from source in Feisty with Compiz Fusion. Currently, I use and SSH client with Windows to connect to the Host OS (Ubuntu) and transfer files but I'd LOVE to be able to click and drag. Any insight?

  • See Xj8fiFTnKG4 and JTqsSN1YiYI

  • What is the difference between this and Innotek's Virtual Box?

  • google

  • Where can I get the ubunto?

  • IT'S UBUNTU.

  • great video (and good music choice). Is VMware hard to install, and are all windows programs supported?

  • VM install in Ubuntu is done with 3 clicks from add/remove feature. Windows programs don't have to be supported because they run natively within the "Virtual Machine"--they are supported by default.

  • how did u install that??

    help!!!

  • install ubuntu, install vmplayer, install all the OS you want

  • That's a very nice wallpaper.

Where to get it? Pls share thX!

  • get wallpaper:

    gnome-look org

    Search for "dos-secretos"

  • how you make the screen spin

  • Install ubuntu, install beryl

  • thats awesome. so what are your system specs?

  • Intel C2D 4300@2700
