Ik herinner me ooit een keer in een goed restaurant in Juan Les Pins. Daar zat een prima toetsenist. Ik raadde hem aan om dingen meer macro te gaan zien en meer promotie te gaan plegen voor z'n prachtige spel. Geen Rubinstein, Uninski, Lipatti of Horowitz, maar een prima toetsenist. Ik weet niet of hij heeft geluisterd, maar een tiental jaren later kwam ik ineens een plaat tegen van een zekere Richard Claiderman...
