@Skippy585 A/B models were the first generation of single and two seat configuration (respectively) F/A-18's. The newer C/D models have updated electronics, more powerful engines, and minor alterations to the airframe. Every f/a18 has a six digit lot number (or BuNo, ex: 162151), which you'll find climbs higher as you progress through the model of fighter. The Superhornets are the highest numbers in this area, denoting their newer make.
Yeah the GE 404 upgraded versions are slightly more powerfull. I wonder if they were ever used in the Phantom or Skyhawk with none afterburning application (GE424?)
I think the Super Hornets power will be upgraded to 26,000 lbs of thurst from 22.
The reason for two #7s is because at the last part of the show season the new pilots for the following year fly with the team. If you look you will see both seats are taken.
I took the video- and if I am correct the show was canceled on sat. and they did a low level show on sun. I could be wrong...but it was so clear on Fri. for practice. It so cool to have the BA come to the UAL maintenance base every year. It brings back the "esprit de core" that we use to have here...At United Air Lines.
thanks that is a rare treat video when i go to airshows i like to see them go in the airplanes take off then run over to a good spot to watch the show and then when they land i like to run over watch them cool their jets get out i like to see the whole thing you cant do that at this airshow so thanks for letting me see them take off
