Thanks. The sump/fuge is just a standard 29 gallon tank. I sectioned it off into 4 sections. First is live rock second is skimmer third is return and fourth is fuge. I plumbed an inlet to the fuge so it could be low flow and flow into the return section. No wave maker just random flow. If you do a 75 I think the 29 is a perfect size for a sump, its taller so it can handle more water if the power ever went out or something went wrong.
Looks great dude, I am just starting up a 75 reef now, what are the dimensions of the 29 gal sump. I would like to do the largest sump/ref. possible. Also do you have a wavemaker for the powerheads? Thanks!
ya dude the tank look fricken great to me it looks like a section in a coral reef in the ocean awsome work i hope when i set up my first salt water tank it looks like this i just haft to sell my 125 gallon fresh water tank and work for my dad and i am going to go out and buy that 60 gallon red sea max 250 it has the over flow system and sump all built in what system are u using
The tank is down now, I moved a few months ago. The tank was at my moms house and I asked her if she could nitice a difference in the bill with the tank up and she said yes but never said how much. I just got my new bill with only a 6 gallon up with a 70 watt hqi on it and I am at $100 a month. That is really high but I dont know if its all from the tank. My mom said that was high too so I guess the bill with the old tank was less.
@force52xxxx Thanks. No wave maker just crossing currents. I thought for a while the corals wouldnt be happy with all this flow but they ended up liking it and had great polyp extension.
I have 1 korlia 3 and 2 1's and a maxijet 1200 on the back wall. I moved them around now and i have less flow now but I think I might put them back for more flow because the corals seem to like it more.
what kind of powerhead and how many do you have in there? It looks like alot a strong current but I only see the one (look slike a corilia) in the corner.
