  • Manzarek was a genius

  • i do miss jims amazing voice and one of a kind attitude, but the doors will always be the doors no matter what! they could'nt just drop every thing. The show must go on. and Ray does sound amazing

  • all 4 members were essential, without morrison, still a great combo of musicians!!!

  • this is great! Ray is an amazing performer and I think he would have been legendary even without the doors.

  • I think you are wrong... without Jim it's different.. but the door still can exist.. i'm a fan o the doors and i think that Manzarek is the best of the band..

  • This sucks - no doors without Morrison.

  • Manzarek's voice is pretty unique. I actually enjoy it. It's not the voice of the Doors but its the best you could get after Jim.

  • its just not the same without jim :(

  • Jimbo was out of commission on this one!

  • Sad without their frontman rolling around on the floor and the band watching over him.

  • it isn't the same without jim

  • amazing how much more relaxed and healthy these guys look here. without the stress of morrison looming over them. too bad jim couldnta relaxed and lived a normal live. this band could have played for eternity... RIP Jimbo.

  • Ray is genius, he played keyboards and supported the group when Jim died by singing the songs

  • Rays got some gnarly ass sideburns!

  • Without Jim it's not the same. And to all of who don't know where Jim is. His dead!

  • wtf, manzarek singing? was jim too drunk or something?

  • @discokidx1 no, i think dead :D

  • @steurun That's FUCKED UP man!

  • exactly he didnt need a bass player and it looks like he didnt even need a singer

  • where is jim? :(

  • TheDoors were all very exellent musicians. Even Without their front man on vocal - they still sound very much like the Doors of course.

If only he had managed to stay out of pills drugs and alcohol they would probably still perform, to the delight of all us devoted fans.

Saw them live in Copenhagen many many years ago, but I still remember it as one of the strongest performances, and moments in my life,

Manzareck is doing his best here, but there was only one Jim Morrison.

    cheff or Luhban bass?

  • RAY MANZAREK IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SEXY!!!!!

HE'S SO MANLY HIS VOICE IS SOOOO DEEP!!!!!

  • well at least we know there are 19 stupid people in this world.

  • Love Tha RAY!

  • WHY MAZAREK IS SINGING??? :DDDD

  • IM SORRY GENTLEMAN, BUT FOR ALL OF YOU.........FUCK YOU....SOUNDS AWFUL, JIMBO WAS THE ONLY ONE, WITHOUT HIM THEY HAD REACHED JUST A REGULAR PLACE IN ROCK HISTORY

  • Tight playing...

  • This is great, but not on the same level of interest I am sorry to say.

  • His voice is funny lol but good though

  • Ray Manzarek.... real talent !!!

  • Ray was fantastic! Świetny głos.

  • Ray Manzarak has a wonderful voice!

  • Ray is a surprisingly decent singer.

  • Jim faz falta aqui !

  • No suena mal...la voz de Manzarek le da un toque de modernidad a la música creo yo

  • Jim Morrison was a dick so he probably wouldnt have liked any off that stuff.

  • @koala2093 probably the greatest front man of all time, actually dude fuck you

  • Comment removed

  • Nonostante l'assenza pesantissima di Morrison, oltre ogni aspettativa hanno dimostrato comunque di saper far musica ed abbattuto il luogo comune che Doors significhi solo Jim...anche se è tutto dovuto a lui.

  • Let's face it, you wouldn't have any idea who the heck Jim was is it was for these guys, after all Robby wrote Light My Fire! As much as I love Jim, I don't think he could have been as much without that amazing organ and guitar. Lets not forget about the music!

  • This is like the Beatles performing without John Lennon.............and pulling it off! Bravo!!!!!

  • This is like the Beatles performing without John Lennon.............and pulling it off! Bravo!!!!!

  • This is fine work. Amazing band, even without the Lizard King. Nobody will replace Jim, but this is still great!

  • id had rather not seen this

  • The Doors without Jim just sound so hallow. It's like someone sucked the life out of them, metaphorically speaking.

  • Rays side burns are massive

  • Wow, im surprised how good manzareks vocals are!

  • this is bad ass. Didn't know the dude sang too.

  • jim morrison at 2:28 of vid playing bass!!!

  • @chaband I think tthat Manzarak did consider replacing him with Iggy Pop. Well I read that somewhere.

  • @14up0 If that happened it would have been amazing, but then we wouldn't have had the "Raw Power" album.

  • where are all the comments about how awesome it is that this is an extended version of the original?

  • Great band I love them all! Talent drips from each and every Doors player. Gotta say tho without their original frontman they seem to lose a lot of energy. Please people if you know some who is drinking themselves to death try a little try to get them some help!

  • no cabe duda que the doors su espiritu era el gran jim morrison¡¡¡

  • I beleive thiis, with or without Morrison, Morrison would never have been as great without The Doors.

  • This band is probably within the top 5 bands of all time as far as ture talent goes.

    1.) Led Zepelin

    2.) The Beatles

    3.) Pink Floyd

    4.) Rolling Stones

    5.) The Doors

    Just my opinion.

  • the doors senza jim morrison non sono the doors

  • @siom4 But Morrison without the rest of the band is not complete.

  • this is toooo fuckin crazy

  • Very sad how Jim is no longer there!

  • A good 'tribute' but not the real Doors if you know what I mean..

  • wow this one you can really see krieger's fingerpicking, its funny to see him strumming at the end, he has his own unique style

  • Yawn. It's sad... these guys were, essentially, reduced to a common bar band once Morrison was out of the picture.

  • Moraisito - The best...

  • edn172 is right Ray Manzerek's piano skills are legendary .

  • THE DOORS ARE THE DOORS JIM MORRISON CLOSE HES DOOR AND HES LIFE CAME TO A END. RAY AND THE REST OF THE DOORS HAVE RIGHT TO OPEN THAT CLOSE DOOR AND KEEP JAMMING. WHY KEEP GOOD SONG BEHIEND CLOSED DOORS

  • At the very least all you Morrison-o-philes have to admit that the band had the common sense not to try and replace him with a new band member. Jim Morrison was NOT the Doors; Krieger is one of the most underrated guitarists of his time, and who could deny Manzarek's genius? Jim Morrison certainly wouldn't. This video gets my thumbs up.

  • really like it...although jim was THE BEST! They look like they're having fun just jamming

  • Who's missing? Santa Claus?

  • good :)

  • They may have not been as awesome without out jim morrison. But its not like they said oh well no more jim morrison I guess I'll never play music again. Gotta think about it from there perspective. and hey man this aint half bad I like the scta/organ part.

  • Yeaa, Manzarek isn't bad, but the doors just aren't THE DOORS without Jim. He's my favorite rock legend. Of course the beatles are amazing, but i just love the way Jim carries himself and acts on stage. He switches from sane, to completely crazy and breaks into almost another person in a second.

  • im sorry but in my opinion the doors is nothig without jim morrison... he is allso the reason they got famous...

  • @iggvf He is not the reason why they got famous. The music was written by Ray,Robby and John. Hell even Robby came up with Light My Fire,Jim only added the 2nd verse. They all made The Doors. Without the music they would of been nothing. Jim was a amazing vocalist when he wanted tobe, you can't take credit from Robby,Ray and John.

  • @tatethompson1234 lets get it clear... jim wrote the songs its true that robby wrote light my fire and he wrote some more songs on the latest albums like la woman... but yes jim is the reason why they got famous he got them the job on whiskey-go-go and it was his stage performance that made the band name known by anyone at all. and jim morrison would have gotten famous with other bandmembers if it wasnt because he knew ray john and robby...

  • @iggvf He diden't get them the Job at the whisky!!!!! You are a idiot,The band playing at the Whisky quit, and they needed to fill the slot and someone mentioned The Doors and they all got the Job at the Whisky. Jim would have never put a band together and had any sucess with out the other 3 members. You are the biggest idiot ive seen. ITS CALLED THE DOORS,NOT JIM MORRISON'S DOORS. You are a fucking retard sir.

  • @tatethompson1234 i am not an idiot. he did get them the job at the whiskey go go if you ever watched the documentary about the doors you would know that its 99% about jim. you dont know anything about the whiskey-go-go do ya? it was a woman who hired the bands for the club and she fell in love with jim and she talked the boss in to let them be the playing there. you can say what you want but it was jim who was the doors like jime hendrix the rest of the band doesnt get remembered as much as him

  • @tatethompson1234there is a reason why so many is called Jim morrison - the doors - song. he was the singer he wrote the songs he was the best stage performer while the other stood in the background. im not saying e would make another band and get famous but if he was in another band they would get as famous as the doors. and most of the people when you say the doors they think jim morrison and you think you are doing the noble thing by remembering the rest of the band but thats not how it works

  • @iggvf They only think of Jim because he is dead, thats why hes as famous today. He also wasent the best stage performer also,in 69 and 70 alot of the gigs he mumbled and was always fucked up,especially in Boston.Your concept of thinking about Morrison is crazy. Every real Doors fan and anyone with a normal IQ will agree with me. Doesen't matter how much he wrote, its the riffs and licks and beats that made the songs. Without Robby and John and Ray,Jim would of never amounted to anything famous.

  • @tatethompson1234 for fuck sake dude! are you slow or something. i know real doors fans think of the whole band im a big doors fans too but erybody else when you say he doors thinks about jim and not cause he is dead... and you wanna hear a little secret? JIM MORRISON WAS THE THE ONLY ORIGINAL PERSON IN THAT BAND! thats why people arent talking about robby in every video about doors they are talking about morrison! forget it + you should know as a doors fan that he was the most important person

  • @iggvf your a fuckin moron, first of all Jim wasn't the only original member of the group. Him and Manzarek started and brought Robbie and John into it right after so, technically they are ALL original member of the band.

  • @tatethompson1234 in that band... you call yourself a doors fan and you cant see the head person in a band? i repeat jim morrison is the doors...

  • @iggvf hold on. you call yourself a doors fan? then give the other band members some credit! they all make the doors. not just jim. your not a doors fan. your just a jim morrison fan. actually your not even that. your just stuck up his ass, that's all.

  • HOLY COW!

I had always known these guys carried on for two more albums....but this is really good!

  • ray sux

  • Ray's got an agreeably bluesy vocal here. Reminds me of John Lee Hooker.

  • So what were the remaining Doors suppose to do CLOSE just because that asshole Morrison threw his Life and rock and roll career down the toilet?

  • Not the same but Ray is damn good.

  • ray looks very sad

  • Manzarek's vocals are very good, actually. Still, it makes me sad seeing them without Jim. I think Jim was a too big part of the band to still keep it going after his death.

  • i didn't think there was footage of them without Jimbo.

  • They thought about replacing Morrison with Iggy pop or Alice Cooper..... But never did. The band is really tight here. Is that Jerry Scheff on bass?

  • hes not that bad but jim is better ray was a true friend to morrison so way to show some love

  • Not really the same without Jim...

  • Is this one of the shows where Morrison was so intoxicated/indecent that the band played without him. I know it happened at least once.

  • @btwf jim morison was dead when this was filmed..

  • gay jijijijiji jajajaja

  • i watched a bcc docu and Ray was in it and he told s his story of how he made the intro to light my fire...he was really intresting and talented and a real gentlemen and he's got himself a wicked hairdo here :)

  • Give ray some credit man. What a terrific musician

  • Blasphemy! The church of Jim does not approve.

  • Who's missing...?

  • The Doors: that was Ray and Rob for me. That Jim person got on my nerve.

  • @ReinholdOtto what about John?

  • @ragingbull888 didn't get on my nerve, but the heroes were Ray and Rob; Ray in particular.

  • Jim was the man, but the music behind it was right there, and I would pay just the same to see this.

  • These guys are good, but they need to get a vocalist.

  • @MrDzhimbo yeah, who knows the big they would've have gotten with a really charismatic one...

  • thanks for posting this video. i wasn't around for the original, but i saw the 21century version. i would have rather seen ray handle the vocals then. awesome band, but without morrison, it's like driving a shelby cobra with an electric engine.

  • @captam666 true that

  • I think its beautiful that they still went on for another year and played the Music so true to them, never the same without Jim but hey Ray is a damn good second best, he plays the bass line, organ solos and sings? Genius... very underated

  • Nice but that's not the same without Morrison.

  • Whats the story? Why is Jim not there?

  • Jim Morrison died on July 3, 1971, and this footage is from 1972, after his death. The Doors continued on as a band after Jim's death and released two albums, Other Voices (1971) and Full Circle (1972). They went out on tour and appeared on TV shows with Ray and Robby taking over on vocals until the original group finally called it quits in 1973.

  • he died in 1971, this is 1972

  • he is dead

  • With Jim gone and lower lawyer bills they could afford to hire a bass player !

  • he's dead....

  • лучше еще никто не создал...

  • this just proves how important a front man is for a band. just watched the same song on you tube in black and white with jim morrison singing and this tbh he must be turning in his grave watching manzarak singing on this. the doors without morrison are a shadow of themselves.

  • This is really good and Manzaraks vocals are suprisingly good. I am sorry but your comment really got to me.

This is the first time I have ever heard the Doors without Jim Morrison and I can say this is way better then I thought it would be. Jim Moririson would be proud of the gang and I am sure he wouldnt have it any other way. I thing you judged this song, not cool.

  • No i'll tell you what your point is george, it's like saying a high school dance bands version of a song is better than the original, because of what it is?? bull shit !Morrison gave the song a badly needed prescence that is missing here in spades! no matter how well played it is. If you can't hear it, you are on the wrong site.

  • My point below in essence is that the formula that springs the equation "Subsequent recordings/performances shall & must equal content of original recordings, and all variations good or bad shall detract from that desired result" is a good share of what has made rock music stagnate and deteriorate over the years since this was made. Mr. "I think I 8 dirt" below needs to find a new way to hear.

  • Some people don't have any more sense of music than to memorize the original release recording and then mentally measure any subsequent performance against this so-called "standard," which may in fact be only a benchmark or a high-water mark. The original is not always a definitive proof. The remaining Doors, who, among the 3 released the album "Other Voices" proved themselves to be more than competent, certainly the more so without the sideshow distractions of the ailing Mr. Morrison.

  • Ok, Jim was the leading personality, the poet, the stage monster and so on, but I'M NOT SURPRISED that this piece sounds even better than the Morrison's version. These guys are KINGS!

  • gargage they shouldnt even play any of morrisons songs

  • I park my car in my gargage!

  • Keep your mouth shut. You have no idea.. what wrong with you? Are you a fucking idot? Are you retarded? Were you kicked in the head by horse when you were young or something?

  • i give it to them there still rocking

wont ever be the same but still have some of that magic about them

damn good musicians rock on guys

    jim RIP

  • you have never heard of the Doors? You have to be kidding!

  • Something wrong with your keyboard mister? Never heard of the D-oors before...

  • lets face it, that is pretty rare footage, SO hell if Jim's not there. Ray ok on vox, but solo and playermanship for all band great, with new additions to band Jack Conrad and Bobby Ray, another bass player and second guitarist (as bass players gigged frequently with them for years.) sounds like The Doors in my book, RIP Jim.

  • wasnt jim passed out in the floor?

  • ustedes los gringos son ignorantes los doors sin jim morrison no eran nada

  • WOW! The reason they imploded once Jim "broke on through to the other side"!

Sorry u poseurs. The Doors WERE the DOORS due to Jimmy Morrison. Manzarek & Robbie were the masterminds!? LMAO!

  • alright!!!!!! the doors!!!!

  • This kicks ASS in a bout a jillion ways you will never know,..Great Job, Awesome DOORS, who needs Morrison?

Oh well they're all dead anyway so what the hay.

    Chucklez

  • Actually only Morrison is dead

  • Musically, they sound ok. But listen to a version with Morrison on vocals and you can see the difference. Never was a fan Manazarek singing (a great keyboardist though).

  • Well, 1st, they look clean hehe...

Morrison did have a great voice BUT remember, it wasnt the jim morrison doors it was THE DOORS and the guys in the video are the masterminds, so if it wasnt for them the doors will be just a garage band, and morrison will be just an stadistic of a punk who died for drug overdose.

  • Post-Morrison Doors never gets the appreciation it deserves.

  • noroses for me is not really right in my opionion because the post morrison years were also good I dfont care waht anyone says.

  • wow is there any more from the post morrison years

  • Im afraid "Unmegaface is right. Robbie did right most of the songs and even Lyrics. Jim did right awesome lyrics, but was more of a front man for the group. Jim sang what they wrote for him. Ray Manzarek was also the Mastermind behind the doors. He wrote their first hits.

  • John Lennon??? rs

  • no offense to BeyondtheBeat. Youve posted some good stuff.. Lotta good stuff. But this is about as tolerable as the sound of an outboard motor when youre hung-over.

  • Comment removed

  • it's cool, jims overrated anyway. didn't robbie pen most the good songs?

  • fuck you unmegaface.

  • ouch, i see your point, well constructed. You obviously aren't just an idiot, and i like that about you. :)

  • if that was sarcasm (mega) youre really not good at it. Im no idiot. Takes an idiot to argue with an idiot- so,,,ta ta.,,,,

  • erm...? quote "Im no idiot. Takes an idiot to argue with an idiot", did you not even notice how retarded that sounds? Once again ouch, but seriously you still haven't even constructed a point other than "fuck you", so i have no choice to continue to assume that you're a douche. Sorry :-)

  • erm...first of all im a chick so how can a chick be a douche? Thats more of a guy thing. hehe. And ...im not wasting any more of my time with you. But you did make me laugh tho. I needed that. Thanks. cheers!

  • these guys are great musicians...but..no Jim...no way. might as well be a bar band..sorry

  • OTHER voices

  • i actual like rays voice but of coarse not the same

  • Ray's voice isn't bad at all. Sounds kinda like Fish and the Chips.

  • Not bad.

  • why??

  • Jim died in 1971. this was in 1972!!!

  • Where's Jim?

  • Jim is ether stoned or dead

  • Probably passed out backstage.

  • he's not passed out he died in 1970

  • jim died in 1971

  • yeah this is after jim :0( but still pretty funky but in my opinion the doors died when jim died simple as !

  • Sometimes I just put this on repeat it really means alot to me. Just picked up the ringtone for my cell phone too if u want it check it out at DownloadAnyTone. com #varialbes#

  • Just love it..:-)

    What about three times...just kidding....

  • great!

    very cool style and voice.

  • rays the man!!!!

  • They almost looked glad Jim Morrison wasn't there.

  • this sounds like what it is, a great band trying to carry on without the greatest singer of all time. Rays got a good voice, but he's missing that special thing, Morrison has a voice that literally stuns you

  • so true...

  • Yeah, The Doors with Ray Manazarek and Robby Krieger on vocals are all right, but they seem like a different group without Jim Morrison.

  • lol super mystery guy at 2:34, they arent supposed to have a bassist xD
