Yeah, most of what I remember from the Rock is his mic skills and promos and very little match's. The only Rock match that does come to mind is him and Hogan at Mania. But Hogan wasn't a real challenge since he was way past his prime and both seemed very stiff as compared to the HBK Taker Mania matches or even the Taker HHH Mania matches.
If they did it, they couldn't have a clean finish. Much the same as Rock vs. Austin at Wrestlemania 17, when they were as popular as ever. To put one over would take away from the other's star power, so they'd have to do it pretty much just like Wrestlemania 17, have a dirty finish and very likely a heel turn for one of them to boot.
austin, hbk and others been in bussiness for 10 , 15 , 20 and so on years and it took them all those years to become who they are today , it only took rock 7 or 8 years to become who he is today and hes mostly as popular as those stars are! so zip it , he had the crowds on hes hands and can control them like no one DID before!
Rock was pretty smart on never accepting a fued with hbk. It would have been career suicide. Back in '97.. when the fued wud have been most probable..hbk was untouchable..and now then in 2002..hbk's return overshadowed the "famous" rock. just watch summerslam 2002..the crowd went mad for hbk..like almost rioting and the same crowd booed the rock out of the stadium against his match with brock lesnar

To me wrestling isn't about the best technical wrestler or the most entertaining.,,it's about who can bring it and make me watch. Guys like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Rock, Hogan...these guys made me tune in every time to see what would happen next. If Rock wasn't top 10 all time there wouldn't be rumours circulating about when he's gonna come back and who he's gonna fight...nobody talks like that about Kevin Nash or Goldberg as much cause they're not great.

Well, I did add Ric Flair and Hogan and Andre who were around from a while back...and I made mention of some ol' school legends and the guys that rip off their styles in the more modern era. I'm in my 20's and I'm not gonna sit here and say that Classy Freddie Blassie or Gorgeous George are on the list cause then I'd be an idiot when I haven't seen them wrestle. There's a few vids of them, but its not the same...but I think I'm fairly accurate. No Koko B Ware lol
BTW He's not even my favourite Wrestler, but I know I'm 100 percent right on this one. Arn was great during the Hroseman days as was Tully Blanchard, they were great in the WWF as well, but not AS great. Their success largely came from associating themselves with the Champion Mr. Ric Flair. Did Arn or Tully ever win the Title? No? Why's that? I grew up with wrestling right when Wrestlemania started, I remember watching a tape of wrestlemania 1 and 2 and getting hooked as a wee lad. I got hooked with wrestlers like Mr. Wonderful, Hulk Hogan, Iron Sheik, Macho Man, King Kong Bundy, Andre The Giant, young Hart Foundation, The Bulldogs...Raven was popular with his flock, but IMO the reason why people liked him was cause DDP sucked and he was rivals with DDP. And the evenflow was cool too.

The Rock definitely didn't reach popularity in a short amount of time. Can you back track? When he first came into the business, the WWE was force-feeding him into the fans and they rejected him. He wasn't at all high-profiled when he was part of the Nation of Domination. He grew on his own once he stayed heel and Stone Cold put him over. Of course people loved when he returned because he was gone for so long, while HBK stayed for a longer period of time.

Yeah, most of what I remember from the Rock is his mic skills and promos and very little match's. The only Rock match that does come to mind is him and Hogan at Mania. But Hogan wasn't a real challenge since he was way past his prime and both seemed very stiff as compared to the HBK Taker Mania matches or even the Taker HHH Mania matches.

To me wrestling isn't about the best technical wrestler or the most entertaining.,,it's about who can bring it and make me watch. Guys like Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Stone Cold, Rock, Hogan...these guys made me tune in every time to see what would happen next. If Rock wasn't top 10 all time there wouldn't be rumours circulating about when he's gonna come back and who he's gonna fight...nobody talks like that about Kevin Nash or Goldberg as much cause they're not great.

Without a foundation a house can not stand. Same thing goes for wrestling, without the guys of the past there never wouldve been a Rock or Austin or Hogan.. BTW Raven was over big in ECW. Arn was great during the Hroseman days as was Tully Blanchard, they were great in the WWF as well, but not AS great. If you break him down many are like him lets see. RAVEN, AMAZING PROMOS decent wrestler. With a dedicated following...so Raven is da bomb now? NO.
BTW Anderson was killing it across the country even before the horsemen days. Plus the fact that he didnt have to hold a world title to be relevant means something

I grew up with wrestling right when Wrestlemania started, I remember watching a tape of wrestlemania 1 and 2 and getting hooked as a wee lad. I got hooked with wrestlers like Mr. Wonderful, Hulk Hogan, Iron Sheik, Macho Man, King Kong Bundy, Andre The Giant, young Hart Foundation, The Bulldogs...Raven was popular with his flock, but IMO the reason why people liked him was cause DDP sucked and he was rivals with DDP. And the evenflow was cool too.

HBK and The Rock are my two by far favorite wrestlers and personality in wwe history, both would be incredible hyping the match up, and there is no doubt that with everything considered, it would be the greatest match of all time. I think that the rock would be fine with losing to HBK, because hes not too concerned about his wrestling legacy i dont think. The Rock definitely didn't reach popularity in a short amount of time. Can you back track? When he first came into the business, the WWE was force-feeding him into the fans and they rejected him. He wasn't at all high-profiled when he was part of the Nation of Domination. He grew on his own once he stayed heel and Stone Cold put him over. Of course people loved when he returned because he was gone for so long, while HBK stayed for a longer period of time.

@shawnjacob32 exactly he grew on his own and it took only 7 short years for him to reach legendary/iconic status to the point where he was already mentioned as being one off if not the greatest to ever step foot into the ring hbk returned to the wwf after the big players where gone after prety much the attitude era bcs aside from his feud with bret h. what else did he did in his so cal prime ??? bcs god knows that during the attitude era he would have just been a shadow to the rock and austin

Have you ever even heard of The Rockers? Do you know the kind of popularity this tag-team got? Guess who was a part of that. Shawn Michaels. He was already popular and grew even more popular once the guy turned heel. The Rock only got over because of Stone Cold. Shawn Michaels worked to get to the top. Bret Hart definitely put HBK over, but not without having an amazing 60-minute Iron Man match at WM 12. You're crazy to think that HBK couldn't hold a candle to Rock and Austin.

Don't forget, HBK put the Attitude Era in motion. HBK clearly has had far bigger matches than The Rock. Just look at what he's done in the previous two WrestleMania's. Clearly The Rock has more charisma and is far more electric than HBK, but that doesn't make him better. HBK redefined how a match should be competed in. HBK showed that pushing the envelope can bring in great results. HBK never sold out and never forgot where his roots were to begin with.

And no you're wrong. HBK put the Attitude Era in motion in response to what his buddies Hall & Nash we're doing down in WCW with the nWo. He became edgier and pushed the envelope with the creation of D-Generation X. He put the company onto a whole new level. Because he was hurt, HBK passed the mantle to Stone Cold and he did the rest. Sure The Rock has millions of fans, that's called popularity. Doesn't mean he's better than HBK. Just more flawed logic.

All because Stone Cold and The Rock were gone doesn't mean the WWE had died. There were still talented competitors in the ring, which by the way HBK had 5-star matches with. Guys like Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Ric Flair and of course The Undertaker. So really get over yourself. Stone Cold was in the top of the league no doubt, but there's no way The Rock gets a notch over HBK. The Rock wouldn't have a company to go to if it weren't for HBK.
