@Dane1Boefel You're getting upset about a god that hasn't had any real followers to speak of in about 2,000 years or so. The movie also says that the Norse gods are alien beings. Most people learn Norse mythology as children and it is treated like it was children stories.
@psychohorrorfan Its actually a pretty widely spread religion in europe atm, not that its dominating at all, but its getting popular. I'm not a follower myself, but i do have great interest for it. I can't speak for the rest of the world, but scandinavian people get taught about these things (more or less) more than when they were just children.

The original actor playing Rhoadie in Iron Man was replaced for a similar reason (he began making unrealistic demands while ignoring the fact that his character is not the star). The Spider-Man situation is different. It's a complete reboot (which does seem kind of pointless). The characters not the actors r the draw of the Marvel films.

It's pretty clear that most of these people commenting do not read comic books or have at the very least, not done research about The Avengers.
The reason Spider-Man and Wolverine are not in this, among other supeheroes, is because they weren't part of the original Avengers team, which this movie is based on. They were part of the New Avengers.
Also, for the people asking who is Scarlett's, Sam Jackson's and Jeremy Renner's characters, they are Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Hawkeye.

The stuff about shield being part of the founding of the Avengers was ret-conned into 616 continuity. This film is closer to the Ultimates contuinuity.

U gotta go in2 this movie taking it as a good old fashioned superhero movie, theres gonna b the odd cheesy moments, humor, jokes its all there, looks fun. You really cant take a movie like this totally seriously like that other one DCs got coming out lol.

It's pretty clear that most of these people commenting do not read comic books or have at the very least, not done research about The Avengers.
The reason Spider-Man and Wolverine are not in this, among other supeheroes, is because they weren't part of the original Avengers team, which this movie is based on. They were part of the New Avengers.
Also, for the people asking who is Scarlett's, Sam Jackson's and Jeremy Renner's characters, they are Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Hawkeye.

Thank you! I mean, I do realize that people can like something without being a fan of the original source material or even being familiar with it, but I find it to be pretty irritating. I'm not trying to sound like I'm angry or offend anybody but it would be nice if people would at the very least just do some research before seeing something. This generation is very lazy.

Like me me, I am a Clive Cussler fan, but they have made two of his books into film and just ruined them. Same thing with the vast majority of Stephen King books. The flicks would be much more enjoyable, if we didn't know the original source material.That's all I am saying.

@SlasherIncorporated Cap, Black Widow, and Hawkeye weren't in the original Avengers either. If you don't count Jimmy Woo's team in the 1950's whom he called Avengers, the founding members were: Thor, Iron Man, Ant Man, Wasp and the Hulk. They found Cap in the Ice afterwards (not shield). The stuff about shield being part of the founding of the Avengers was ret-conned into 616 continuity. This film is closer to the Ultimates contuinuity.

Yes, I know. I realize that some members came and left but when I say original, I mean the First Avengers team, before it disassembled completely and the "New Avengers" came. In that time period, Captain America, Black Widow and Hawkeye had joined.
