XD Belive it or not pugs really DO scream like that! It may sound unsettling to first-time listeners, but this doesn't mean the pug is hurt. He's just excited! There are countless videos of screaming pugs.

@TheHorrorShowOfDeath I am pretty sure all pugs can! I have 5 pugs and all of them do this. They do it for all different reasons though. Depends on what excites them.
