Great tutorial! You really inspired me to go to the store right now and buy some stuff, and I mostly don't need any tools to do this. Much easier than wood or aluminum. I was worried in the beginning of the video that you were another crazy guy with the keyboard, but then I realised you're a pretty awesome guy. Thanks! :)
Do you have a written out tutorial for this? With all the pieces? It'd be really handy to take one to home depot or lowes so i can ask for all the pieces. Haha Thanks! Great tutorial
You may find you want some additional pieces to suit your needs, this is just a basic concept model, you can personalize it any way you like.
One thing, the only pieces I have glued with PVC cement go over the shoulder. The rest are press fit so they can be changed to suit the particular use.
I forgot to mention some nylon zip ties to hold the foam insulation to the shoulder part, the insulation is just a slip fit on the handles.
Oh, and a hacksaw. I used a power miter saw but I realize not..
Good mount. I could probably use on of those. I've actually been making alot of camera mounts lately. I have one that I made that hooks to a drill for spinning the shot in circles. I'll have to show that to you.
pretty cool...great idea....i wonder if you can hook a chain or rope off the very back end, down to your belt...that way you could let it go and it wont fall off...im inspired to make one, thanks
Funny you should say that, I was thinking of incorporating some sort of lanyard, but everything I've thought of is too long to protect the camera and any shorter restricts movement.
I did add a weight and it worked better than I thought, stay tuned for an update soon.
I experimented a bit today but really wasn't as excited with the results as I thought. It was considerably better than just holding the camera, but it wasn't until I changed the arrangement of the grips and added some weight that it improved.
I think with some practice it should be ok as is, but I'll post an update soon!
Great idea, thanks for the video

Or you could hold it...

@AllGhilliedUp954 Try holding a camera with 45x zoom still! Not as easy as it looks.

@krumprak Yes, all the parts should be in the electrical conduit department.
Be sure to check out the response video about the upgrades to the shoulder rig

It's all made from electrical PVC, that's the grey stuff, it's a lot cheaper. It's also all 1/2" size.
The basic setup requires 1 T-box, 1 stick of PVC pipe (10'), 3 90 degree sections, 2 45 degree sections, 2 1/2" slip joint connectors, 1 piece of foam pipe insulation, 1 inch and a half long carriage bolt (1/4" x #20 thread), 1 nut to match.
Can of PVC cement and some super glue for the nut. and a 1/4" drill bit.
Be sure to see the video response about the updates and added weight.

Wow, that looks nice. I reckon you can get some good movement effects from that. :)
