@mddarch2 in New York you guys get this sort of thing all the time, plus your biggest snow storm total was 6 inches more than our biggest. Most of our winters are gray and boring, with not much in the way of snow, so when a storm like this comes around I get excited.

@five5x hmm... actually there's always extra electricity and I have no idea where it goes. Have you ever wondered where the unused electricity in a power line goes if nobody is using it? I might as well use it. It doesn't stay in the line because the nuclear power plant is always operating and they put the current into the powerlines... and actually nuclear power gives off no pollutants.

We just saw a ton of lightning strikes in Quebec, there's about 3 inches already down in the past hour, I didn't think it could happen in the winter its the weirdest thing to watch!!

Here in cali the thunder storms are loud enough to rattle not just the windows but the floor and walls too. It's as if a huge dump truck drove by. Scared the crap out of everyone.
