Yes, i'm aware of that, but i was testing several different converting programs before i bought one and did this video because the guy who wrote the song(Michael bradley is his name) never saw the video. i did eventually buy a converter program, just havent gotten around to reconverting this. i mostly just use it to convert things for my zune player.
@Lumadil Michael Bradley did not write this song, it was produced about 3 years before Macek started Robotech and was used for the show with the band's permission. Michael Bradley is actually the voice behind Lancer/Yellow Dancer, and performed MOST of those songs.
@northerncrisp I know Bradley was yellow dancer, but from all information i've found, it was Bradley and Wittmack who composed "In My heart". and was done in 1986. i'm only stating the info i've found. if you can correct me, i won't complain
I just looked it up ^_^ I got flashbacks of my childhood, just the kind of songs they used back in the days for cartoon ^_^ Thanks for the info on this =D
I don't understand why there are two versions of this. They have the same art. What's the difference between Macross and Robotech besides the fact Macross is in Japanese?
Robotech though the same art wise as Macross, the difference is the dialogue and meaning of Macross was changed for Robotech. Robotech also combined 3 different series to form 1 related series. Macross was just Macross. Robotech was Macross, Southern cross, and Genesis climber Mospeada. the first original Robotech was released on feb 6th, a movie called Robotech-The Shadow Chronicles. you dont need to watch the original series to understand the movie
"the first original Robotech was released on feb 6th, a movie called Robotech-The Shadow Chronicles. you dont need to watch the original series to understand the movie"
Robotech 2-the sentinels wasnt meant to be a movie. What we see as a movie, is really the 3 pilot episodes for what was suppose to be an original new series, but things fell through. infact until The Shadow Chronicles, every Robotech project fell through.
technically you are right, though the sentinels wasnt meant to be a movie, it did infact become one. And frankly, your english is better than most people i know, so dont sweat it..
It's because of the visionary Carl Macek - He wanted to bring Japanese animation, Macross in particular, to the west, but no networks would accept any shows with less than than 60 episodes, but in Japan it was common for a show to have around 26-40, sometimes even as few as 12 episodes. So he took 3 separate shows with a similiar theme, and gave the compilation the title of "Robotech", and worked a few changes in here and there to add a bit of continuity into it.
Well, isn't Southern Cross and the others just a continuation of Macross, like a second season or something? Well, I read the books called 'Robotech', and some one told me that they were copied after the anime. And the books have all of the other seasons, like sentinals, Genesis, and Southern Cross.
In Japan, Macross, Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospiada were three, completely unrelated cartoons (all from the same creator, I THINK).
Then, some American got his grubby little hands on the three of them and linked them all together it what is known as ROBOTECH.
ROBOTECH has a sequel called Macross II (and no doubt many others of which I am not aware) and Macross has a most amazing sequel called Macross Plus (and perhaps a few others besides.)
@ThatGuyFromYouTueb the guy was Carl Macek, and he is credited with beginning the anime revolution in the US. while the US had speed racer and whatnot, they only had a small following. Robotech whether people like it or not, helped create the anime fan base that exists today. It would of eventually happened without his help, but it would of probably happened much later than it did. He had very little choice to do this since he wanted to do Macross dub, but the networks wouldn't of accepted it.
@Lumadil The only reason they wouldn't have accepted it, is Macross didn't have enough episodes for syndication unless it went one episode a week. So he searched out any other anime that could be combined to create an epic. He initially chose Southern Cross and Mospeada due to the similarity of mecha, and similar storylines. Orguss was his first choice for segment 3, but after reviewing Mospeada, found it to be easier to integrate.
The main problem i had with this video when i first saw it on the Robotech dvd, is it sounds like its suppose to be a love song, but only guys appear in the video and when General Emerson is standing there with his aid and the song goes "Then you walked into my life" Commander Leonard enters the command center. looked a bit gay lol
Robotech-the untold story is the holy grail to the robotech fan. I frankly see it like this, releasing it would kill its mystique, and eventually, Harmony gold wouldnt ever have to address the issue of this movie again.
I heard there were 2 versions of this right??? 1 involved T.R Edwards and a cover-up plot regarding the SDF-1 taking place during Macross saga, and another is about the Masters getting a supercomputer right??
I would buy this movie if only for the great soundtrack. Too bad there is no legal release.
If you like the movie for the story, though, this movie is readily available, along with it's two awesome sequels, in English, under the name "MegaZone 23", just without the footage from southern cross or whatever Robotech canon they inserted. And it's a bloody good movie (especially the sequel) so I'd reccomend it. Have a look at my website hooplanet dot co dot uk to see my report on it.
Aye, he definately did write some awesome songs, for the show/original movie and non robotech songs. I hope he is able to release the album "Lonely soldier boy" one of these days.
Aye it is a great song, the music is about the only good thing about Robotech the movie-the untold story. You should listen to some of the songs Michael Bradley sang from robotech. He was the singing voice of Yellow Dancer in the 3rd robotech series-The new generation. He's one hell of a singer and an awesome song writer.

I dont have that song, only reason i have "In my heart" is because this was the actual music video for a Robotech movie, not self created. sorry.
