I can't get the piston at 3:41 to work properly on my server, I think it's being powered by the piston at 1:08 because a lot of other people on the server are having similar problems since we updated to 1.1, what do I do? D:

How could I wire the button on the inside to only switch the t flip-flop gate to the position which would open the stairwell for a limited amount of time before it would revert the t flip-flop back to the position which would close the stairs?

Unfortunatly the T-Flip flop doesint work in SMP but in SSP Only witch sucks because then i have to wire redstone all over the place to get it to close from 2 locations xD

The stairs work in multiplayer it's the t-flip flop that is broken.

Nice, I love your tutorials. They're all well set out and easy to follow.

Just some issues with this circuit- I followed this build exactly and I'm testing it with one switch but I get the burn out sound and the last two floor bocks don't come up. It has something to do with the torches and the sticky pistons that bring up the floor not getting power. Is this a timing issue or the circuit is too compact or what do you think? I have plenty of room to build bigger but redstone does my head in lol

@MeatSim9 Simple, but buggy.

1. Redstone dust transport a current. It can power a block but only when going straight into it.

2. Repeaters makes a small delay (depending on the tick you set it on). Repeaters can only be set in one direction, and can power a block as well.

3. Redstone torches can be used as a power supply or to transport a current. To do so you must power the block it is placed on.

4. Power can be use for several things. Doors, Pistons, Rails

5. A detector rail is a power suply

So i actually (with some help) managed to build a double piston staircase. it doesn't replace the blocks by actual stair-blocks, but makes them assume a climb-able formation. it's not very complicated, it just took some work to get the timings right.

This works for me in single player until you get to the red wool circuit.. you never really went into detail as to how exactly you made it, and i did it how it looks, but it the button doesn't do anything besides switch off the redstone torch on the side of the block. If i destroy that torch, then the button works, but the stairs close straight away

To clarify guys. This works in single player 1.1 and is broken in multiplayer. Redtone lag on servers is all I can attribute it to. Lets hope our partnoid master sorts it out :)

Hi CNB!

I have a question, The compact hidden stairs v3 has stopped working, and im not sure if its only for me or everyone. WHat i have noticed is the world save were you have all of the examples, also have stopped working. The problem is the top stairs is not pulled down and hidden, it remains there when closed. Its easily fixed by just replacing it with a regular block, but then the coming up from the secret room u will have to jump the last block. it worked on 1.0 but stopped working on 1.1.

@kilik8880 Make sure the repeater on the bottom is set to a delay of 3. The point of that repeater is to power a piece of redstone quickly after the piston is activated so that the sticky piston retracts fast enough for the red wool not to stick back on.

Also make sure you are correctly powering the red block with a button on it. If you are connecting wire to that block instead of a direct button, you have to make sure the wire goes both directly to the block and to the wire under it.

Only issue I have had, is when the stairs are completed. The bottom staircase always has a block stuff on-top of it every time I reveal the staircase. I always have to delete it and plat it back on the piston, any idea whats wrong? Thank you.

lets see, 2 things that aren't your fault: one it seems as if the first block switcher sometimes glitches and doesn't work(ie the piston w/o the block to begin with doesnt push back so no block swich happens). i have yet to find out how to fix this :/ and as far as i can tell once it stops working it wont start. also to people who's t switch wont work: under the piston is a restone torch on the right side facing the piston, that is what i had trouble with too, you couldn't see it in the video.

@Malvisk Make sure there are TWO redstone dusts near the "output" = One near the piston and one next to the first torch (near to the piston, not under). That shall make do.

Also check your timing. (sticky pistons "spit" out blocks if they get a current of 1 tick, the repeater is a delay limiter that makes the output 1 tick only)
