  • In one way or another, it helps to know what spiritual leaders do. We can learn from them.

  • the fucking idiot says the heretics of buddhism, dalai lama, knows chinese culture better than chinese!

  • @gigapedia38 are you chinese? seems like you have a lot of anger for buddhists and not a lot of honesty about the chinese governement's policies.

  • of course the leader of tibetan in the past who were monks claiming against the buddha's foundamental teaching that they were buddha, fucking silly, were responsible to killing and mis-treating their people!

  • FREE TIBET

From one point of view we can say that we have human bodies and are practicing the Buddha's teachings and are thus much better than insects. But we can also say that insects are innocent and free from guile, where as we often lie and misrepresent ourselves in devious ways in order to achieve our ends or better ourselves. From this perspective, we are much worse than insects.

  • What a great and wise speaker.

Tibetan Buddhism is quite popular in Taiwan and Hong Kong. And even amongst Singaporean and Chinese Malaysian.

  • Absolute you are great master of Tibet, I am so glad to watch you. I have been learning from you lots about Tibet. Please keep up.

Thanks share us the great kingdom of spiritual.

  • Screw u , Oh yeah, What r u gonna say about NEW mexico and Hawwaii?

  • Dalai Lama =! Buddhism.

That is one thing CIA, CNN, and Robert Thurman alike don't want to world to know.

A very cunning manipulation of the public opinion.

  • qq 1650, hahaha. Do you really think that it's sufficient to visit just ONE website to learn the truth? I've studied the history of Tibet well enough to know very well that Tibet was an autonomous state when China invaded it in 1949-1950. The US government confirms that.

So, what's your argument? You have none. You start insulting others. That't enough proof of your lack of arguments.

Moreover, I listen to all people and read all articles and books that offer me reliable information.

  • uber

  • that guy is uber gay

  • Dminoz, I've studied the history of Tibet, but I don't agree with you. The Chinese still maintain that their military attack on Tibet and the following occupation were justifiable because they had to liberate Tibetans from an authoritarian theocratical system. But the Tibetans neither asked for a foreign occupation, nor were unhappy with their theocracy. In fact the situation in China in 1949-1950 with slavery and hard labour for peasants was worse than in Tibet.

    What are your sources?

  • guy,please respect truth,stop lying

  • qq 1650, Everybody who knows history is aware of the fact that there was slavery in China in those years. There's no reason to deny that. The social system in Tibet was not perfect, but that can never be a reason to attack a souvereign state like Tibet was. You should study the history of Tibet and China before you accuse others.

  • guy,stop lying immediately.

Just visit the website of US government, you can find out more truth

    shame on you ,liar!

  • qq 1650, yourt comment is really ridiculous. Let me say that I'm not interested in Chinese propaganda :). China has invaded a souvereign state and constantly tries to justify that invasion and the following oppression of the Tibetan culture and inhabitants. Everybody who denies that can only be an agent of the despicable Chinese propaganda machine or shows an enormous lack of educatiuon.

Study history, find out the truth, read books about this subject. It's not sufficient to visie one site :)

  • guy,respect the truth,stop lying,stop insult ing human being's IQ,stop insulting yourself.

Read more books, read more about history.

Your loved 14th dalai lama is not a monster,he is human being,do not just listen to him and deaf to the truth.

    shame on you

  • Guy,I told you the visit the US government's website, the website is built by US government, not by China, not chinese propaganda,

shame on you ,shame on liars

  • Übertrieben langweilig ist das

ja aber kann man draus was lernen ja

  • Thanks for posting this interesting and informative video about the ideas and work of the Dalai Lama. He never called for an uprising against the Chinese occupation of his country because he rejects the use of violence. He's a consequent practitioner of Tibetan Buddhism.

  • No, I don't use crack, I drink coffee :) But to be serious: Yes, there are differences between the original Buddism, as was practicised in India, and Tibetan Buddhism. The Tibetan version has incorporated several elements of the older, local Pön (or Bon) religion and Tantrism.

Tibetan Buddhism has changed the Tibetan people a lot: their military campaigns came to a halt and it was forbidden to kill all living creatures.

Literature: e.g. Sir Charles Bell, "The religion of Tibet" .

  • uummmm who taught you this??

  • please do indepdent research, should be found in any book on tibet written by western academics. chinese usually focus on the "serf" and the feudal stuff when trying to degrade tibetan culture.

  • thats good, what about your own research? tell me from what time the 14th dalai lama ruled tibet??

you know you call him a slave master etc. but did he really had the chance to RULE tibet before china started to occupie it?? use your head...

  • in case you didnt notice i did not call him a slave master. i was stating what western and chinese academics write about.

  • ok im sorry i was something else with my mind... sorry

the feudal and serf system existed, thats true but the people werent unhappy like today

  • his a layer.

  • Thank you for the wonderful video. Its amazing to hear these highly educated gentlemen to speak about the dalai lama, tibet, china and human rights in particular.
