I'm just curious as to how long a baby float like that for on their own for? I would hope that when I have children that I can teach them to float on their own so that if something happened to me whilst near a pool or maybe even whilst giving them a bath that they would be able to survive by floating until somebody else could help them out. Too many children drown by accident, more parents should be proactive and encouraging like this :)
@elebella1224 my kids have been in this program for 3 years...the flipping over simulates falling in the water and becoming disoriented. they need to know how to roll over and float on their backs in order to get air. thats why they do that.
@elebella1224 If the infant accidentally fell in a body of water without anyone around he wouldn't have someone there to encourage him to continue floating, so maybe that is why the other mother wasn't saying anything. I can only assume since the mother put her child in ISR that she is a nurturing, compassionate parent...just saying.
@elebella1224 Each parent has their own style of parenting. Plus they know their child and his or her personality better than anyone else. Plus, tiffsulllivan8 raises a good point that the baby will be all alone when it happens.
What's most important is that the program teaches the baby to scream/yell after it has happened to alert anyone who's nearby.
