Yet when he plays Super Metroid, a game which doesn't have anything extraordinary to offer in those areas, and is all about the actual gameplay........

I just don't get this guy. He gushes with praise for this game (and not without good reason) despite essentially no cutscenes, a brief ending, graphics which were solid but not earth-shattering, and minimal story. These are things which navgtr irrationally obsesses over - he called DKC "the game of the decade" basically because of its graphics, he criticised Goldeneye because it didn't have cutscenes and had a short, lackluster ending.....

There's so many things wrong with this video. You can get the spring ball before the space jump(it's not easy but possible) You have to powerbomb the wall before your "helpful little robot" tunnels through the sand, and power bombs aren't very effective against Ridley, your best bet is super missles and a charged plasma beam. Plus Botwoon is half Sea Horse? What?

Sake of ease wall jumping is hard and still not very well known about since you can't do it in most of the recent games. Other M is the first game to have it since fusion and zero mission which were the first since super metroid. Also as I said it's hard I personally can't pull off more the 1 wall jump for sure. Doing it for that long would take some luck, skill, and being a master of the game and wall jumping. It's easier for players ot simplely get the space jump and get it then.

@supersonic2394161 I will agree with you that getting the space jump might be easier but I am cirtainly no master of the game and had little trouble getting the hang of wall jumping. It's frustrating to start learning the wall jump sinds most likely you will continuasly fail for the first 10 - 20 mins but once you get the "Rythem" down it should be quite easy.

thats a lie i can get spring ball without screw attack its easy when your grappelin on pull yourself up to the top of the grapple as close as you can and its ethir you turn into a ball and you shoot up or you (and it didnt seem like the metroid wanted to die on you it looked like it wanted to strike it again after givin you power so it could give you more so ya a couple mistakes)

The wall-jump is a perfectly valid technique that you can use in the lower areas of Brinstar, before you even reach Maridia.

If the enemies at the top of the shaft in Maridia bother you - use a charged somersault.

Charge up your beam, do a somersault, and let go of the charge button as you do a wall jump (you can maintain a continuous wall jump if you do this - you cannot do so if you keep your finger on the charge button).

Easy.

I think this game had an interesting feel to it too. The music was always eerie and alien. Bosses, as well as enemies, were unique. There were puzzles to figure out and some areas were more hidden then others, making the exploration that much more fun. A game worth playing in the middle of the night.

Believe it or not, they mange to get off the planet somehow. Apparently they're very capable pilots, and they actually end up saving Samus's life at the end of Metroid Fusion with these piloting skills.

You can see them flying off screen as the planet explodes at 4:54 (look for a tiny white dot). Who knows how they got a ship? I like to think they hijacked it from the Space Pirates. Which is probably what happened.

bah springball noob. you dont need the springball. just some epic wall jumps. you break the center. then jump from the edge of the left (with a wall jump at the top. not actually standing on the ledge) then clip repeat as you slip in that tiny gap. from there. simply become ryu ninja and leap up the walls to get the springball asap... metroid guide even tells you how to wall jump. this news guy was just a noob XD
