You know, I honestly don't mind Amy's gameplay. Yes it's slow, but the hammer jump is an awesome move that can be loads of fun when you get it down just right. I have made so many short cuts using that thing, and pulled off some nice stunts too.

1. Sonic (fast-paced and fun)

2. Gamma (cool shooting levels, but not too slow)

3. Knuckles (nice and different, but can get annoying at times)

4. Tails (too similar to Sonic's, but still fun)

5. Big (REALLY BAD GAMEPLAY, but at least entertaining)

6. Amy (almost as bad as Big, but not funny)

Ah Amy's story. I've said this in a previous comment, but the character development of Any's story puts it at my favorite path to take when playing this game.

It had a good sense of danger, some good puzzles, and a fairly epic fina moment where Amy learns to stand on her own two feet.

It's just a shame that they negated any kind of development she went through in every other game Amy's been in since. This ould have been her breakthrough into being a relevant charater, not a just a fangirl.

I had nothing better to do today so I watched an episode of Sonic X. Half the episode was cutscenes from this game reanimated and redubbed and the other half were weak transitions between said cutsceens. By the way, does anyone else notice a paralell between Sonic and Amy Rose's relationship to Charlie and Rose's relationship in Two and a Half Men. Not the best set of paralelles but interesting.
