  • I've got a bottle of Liquitex matte medium, would I be able to use that instead of the mod podge?

  • I don't have modpodge in my country :( will PVA glue or white glue work??

  • @alexandrayla You wouldn't be able to get them wet, since the PVA would melt/go weird, which might be tricky to maintain with shoes

  • WOW!!! I love it! I'm going to do this as soon as I can =D

  • so incredibly awesome

  • @elenagogo Thank you! I used one and a half doilies for each shoe.

  • @craftzine where can i get old doilies

  • @craftzine and is the old doilies made of lace , paper...etc I HAVE TO KNOW.... LOL

  • does the glue dry clear and non shiny? would helmar 450 glue work as an alternative?

  • how big was da doilies dat u used??

  • @MissPrettyThickness 10 inches across.

  • I like these! But I would leave the wedge plain. :) I want to go get some doilies and wedges now... :)

  • @gurl4Godalwayz I really liked how it looked without the wedge done as well but I really wanted to go for the gusto. Next time I think I am only going to do the top as well.

  • Love it! I need to find a pair of shoes to try this on. How many doilies did you use?

  • so, what's a doily?? it looks like the things my grandma used to knit, like crochet but with thinner thread.. is that what it is??

  • @11alem11 doilies can be used for coasters, cocktail napkins, tea napkins, dinner napkins, place mats things like that. my mom makes em a lot.

  • AOAJGRIBUJDSRGHGF'A'FI THAT LOOKS SO DAMN COOL! Unfortunately I don't have a pair of shoes right now that I'm willing to do that with.

  • ive done this before with fishnet tights! i love mine!

  • awesome i want to try this now!!!!

  • ZOMG your HAIR is AMAZING!!! LOVE IT!!!!! and also the shoes rock. But mostly your hair!!!!!

  • You could also use lace, mesh, netting or tule. I think they would give a very cool look, it depends on what look you're going for :P

  • LOVE!! Those would seriously cost upwards of $150 on Free People or Revolve. Def gonna scavenge my old shoe bin for the perfect pair. Or like someone else said, keep my eyes out for a cheap pair in need of rescuing. Keep ya posted!

  • I love this!!!

  • Those are perhaps the most adorable shoes I've ever seen. I have no shoes to use myself, but I will be off to goodwill at some point in the future to find some.

  • this is really rad;)

  • I'm so gonna use black doilies.

  • Super cool!

  • LUV ur Hair!!

  • I love modpodge!

  • Great....I'll try it out. Merry Christmas!!!

  • you should do a styling video wearing the shoes, maybe on your other channel :)

  • corinne, i just love your tutorials. they're so original and inspiring. i mean, as a diyer the biggest challenge is always the inspiration, because once you have an idea you'll kind of figure out how to do it. but your videos always bring refreshing new ideas and techniques. thanks so much for making videos again :D

  • Wow awesome!! Even if I don't wear wedges cause I'm a guy xP. But the idea is very neat!! Where did you get those huge doilies?

  • Corinne, you are the greatest inspiration! Love your work and always have :)

  • i love it! also, the colour of those doilies is great :) thanks for the tutorial, now i feel like i should wear wedges sometimes ^^

  • Wooooooooow!!! really good idea for to give old shoes second chance!! Also good idea dying doilies!! Thanx one more time for your ideas!

  • wow thats different but so cute!

  • Corrine, these are amazing! At first i wasn't into them, thinking that you crocheted this entire shoe cover thingamajig (which would take forever) BUT when you showed how easy it was (or looked) Im loving it now and i have a million ideas running thru my head... man i love watching DIY videos!!!

  • this idea is AWESOME !!! thank u

  • thanks corrine!

  • I had a pair of shoes that i painted and coated in mode podge, also purple oddly enough, but i had an issue. in the areas like the toe and ankle, where it tends to need to bend, it's cracking. is there a way to not let that happen next time?

  • @kiddynamo41 LoriHulstine pointed out that they make outdoor mod podge (i never knew that)... that would probably do the trick ;]

  • LOVe the shoes. And i think i have some old lace table runners (oh and some faux fur for the top) i got from a garage sale that now needs to be added to a scuffed up wedges. Squeeee.

You wouldn't have an idea for a Ushanka would you? My ears are freezing and i have the materials but no pattern/tutorial.

  • :O aaaaaaaaaaamazeballs

  • D.I.Y. rule #1. Modge podge is ALWAYS your friend :D

  • this is amazing- thank you!!

  • I did a pair of knee high vinyl boots with leather and used Barge Cement instead. It is SUPER strong. Mod Podge is cool and all but when it gets wet it falls apart.

  • I did this with some doilies awhile back! They look super cute

  • I am absolutely in love with your hair!

  • YOUR HAIR!! i love it. i was on the fence about cutting mine that same style! but i just got the bangs, i was too scared to go that short D=

and i'm totally gonna do this to my shoesies.

  • cool

  • This is my favorite video of yours. I will haveto try this out. Super cute.

  • cool

  • OMG, I love this. I also think you look great with this new hairstyle. Dee

  • they are really amazing!! i love the purple.

  • ADORABLE

  • Don't you just Lurve Mod Podge!!!! so kewl - have to try this. Hugs Eva

  • i love it so doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is really brillant! It would be fun to do the doily on top and glitter the heel.. so many possibilities!

  • Going in sections is a great and idea and makes it make a lot more sense:D

  • Do you think this would work for different fabrics?

  • The music was really unenjoyable. Maybe make friends in a band or something. You could give them exposure in exchange for not having to use midi music in your vids.

  • You are so stinkin' brilliant! I love them!

  • I thought they looked even better with a black wedge and a purple doily body, like before you covered the heel oh or if you only covered the heel would look amazing I love this :)

  • Woah...hot shoe...btw has anybody ever told you that you look Christina Ricci (Wednesday from the Addams Family) lol : )

  • LOVE this

  • can you do this with any type of fabric?

  • OMGosh! I LOVE it! I'm going to try this out on my leather guitar strap XD

  • I like!

  • Soooo cute :)

  • Can you use any kind of decopage glue? Since we don't have modge podge in our country?

  • do the shoes have to be wedges?

  • CUTE CUTE CUTE CUTE

  • LOVE this idea! Your hair looks awesome, btw.

  • Such a great idea, you always have the most fantastic new ways to spruce up older but well loved items!

  • Sooo coool.

  • Love, Love, Love it! I think I would use outdoor Mod podge for the top coat so they would be weather resistant. Where does a person find purple doilies?

  • @LoriHulstine Good idea! I dyed the doilies purple, they were off white.

  • @LoriHulstine Oh what...? I didn't even know they made outdoor mod podge xD thanks LoriHulstine, your a life saver ;]

  • That is really cool.

  • I really love the shoes! i'm so going to make a pair of my own :D just one question: what kind of glue are you using? xx

  • @anne413able it's a type of glue called mod podge. it's like a thicker glue

  • @anne413able modge podge

  • @anne413able If you pay attention, you'll notice she used mod podge matte. This acts as a adhesive and a sealant. It's magical, really lol (:

  • @anne413able She's using Mod Podge, it's a deco podge glue. You can find it at any craft store and at wal-mart. She's using the matte finish.

  • @anne413able Mod Podge...

  • This is such a great idea! Im defenetly going to give this a try!!!!I love your videos there so helpful and great! Please keep them coming!

  • love the hair, and the shoes :)
