1. Taxpayer's money consists of money collected from taxpayers through taxation. It would not include RNC funds which are raised through contributions/donations.

2. I agree the cost of Palin's wardrobe impacts the "average american" image Palin portrays. Much like John Edwards' $500 haircut while claiming to represent the poor. I'm OK with the RNC buying the wardrobe, but it would have been better to go with something less expensive.

Well, I know that Gov. Palin has definitely made waves within the Republican base. However, the polls also show that she is not winning over moderates, independents, or women voters. Do you think she'll be able to pull those people in? I mean, time is definitely not on their side. I saw recently that her approval rating has dropped significantly among voters that are not included in that Republican base. I don't McCain's handled her well. lynn: IMO McCain HAD to pick a female to have any chance at winning. The only large demographic group still undecided in September were blue collar white women. Palin appeared to have a background that might appeal to these voters.

Palin also had solid credentials with the Rep Base which was important because the Base doesn't like/trust McCain.
