  • John mayer live

  • Hey! This is the drumbeat from John Mayer Trio's "Who Do You Think I Was", awesome even on it's own

  • Steve has a deeper pocket than Bill Gates...

  • Steve is always at his best.

  • I posted Steve Jordan Pick Hits for all the fans of Steve Jordan, John Scofield Electric Outlet album!!

  • check out jeffJRrandall

  • john mayer....shut the fuck up

  • so, this is swung feel, but not quite, it seems in that liquid-y state between swung and straight? kinda like how a samba is? any tips?

  • Who Did You Think I Was

  • @deliteplayer Great player, but i wouldn't call him the godfather of Groove. . .

  • Are there more videos from this show? I want more of Steve Jordan laying it down like that, his kit sounds so fucking sweet! Not to mention he is the master of the groove...

  • I saw him at Soul Drummers . com

  • I just ordered some yamaha wood hoops for my maple custom!

They looked SOOOO nice when I saw them on the Steve Jordan DVD.

    Amazing drummer.

  • any one know what snare that is?

  • that is his own signature yamaha snare!!

  • @doubledutchy70 if you want a very close in my opinion better sound check out the yamaha musashi 13X7 sounds great I use it in all my recordings

  • @doubledutchy70 with yamaha wood hoops!

  • @doubledutchy70 With classic Yamaha wood hoops.

  • i like boobs

  • @music77ify I am sure you do man, but youve got the wrong vid

  • I like to touch boobs.

  • @DRUMMERNIGGA

    It's called "Steve's".

Steve isn't the only one who can play it, but it will only allow such perfect sound to exude from itself when played by Steve himself...hence the name.

But seriously, it actually is called "Steve's" It's the Yamaha Signature Steve Jordan Snare. Roughly 600-something dollaz.

  • the fill on "wait until tomorrow" from where the light is before the chorus where he does that groove on the snare to the hi hat hits is why i think he is the greatest drummer ever.

  • Word!!!!!

  • @punkdude543 True. Love listening to that fill. ALOT.

  • ..John is right

  • omg have u seen toher vids from the dvd? he looks so old in that suit an on that chair xD

but still: no one grooves more than him. point.

  • Ooh since when Steve Jordan uses matched grip?

  • Drummers like him are masters at both forms. When he needs to lay down that sick backbeat, he goes to matched. Steve is the man.

  • he uses both depending what type of beat i think

  • "Simplicity is not stupidity"

  • wonderful DVD

  • @phoneboothplus1 Someone has Steve's DVD lol, he is awesome isn't he.

  • @phoneboothplus1 No - in fact, it's actually sometimes quite hard to keep a groove like Steve does.....there's a lot of intricacies with his style. For example; how awesome is how bass drum work and the SOUND of his bass drum? Reminds me of the great Motown drummers.....

  • dude is totally zoned in with his instrument

  • you could take any suggestion john mayer makes...and actually do them all jk
